The city looks very generic, in no places I can find a building that stands out being a real landmark.

Textures are not that detailed, much like a Vice city standard than the best SA mods out there.

Prelighting, Prelighting, Prelighting, Prelighting, Prelighting.... Even if you're on a work in progress you need to compute some sort of lighting to help previewing and better understanding of the pics for the ppl here.

So not only flat on the lighting but on the height, what you need is not one flat city nexto a crazy hill but a city with multiple height variations, and more detph.

The list could go on and on... wink.gif



To sum up: it's pretty bad at the moment. But not worst than what we see for a long time in 'Map' since a few months.

you can convert 3-4 buildings, but don't go crazy and convert the whole city
this can prevent peoples from buying IV,TLAD or TBOGT

Prelightning is the way to make meshes look more orginized and give a better impression when looking em at day and Night, I recommend you go to Las Venturas, stay at the main strip then put the cheat that makes the time go fast an between 20:00 PM and 24:00 PM you will see meshes changing color, the change you see from a near generic prelight to a nice coloured prelight(the night one) is called Night Vertex color, that makes the mesh have a generic prelight on day that contrasts with all other meshes, then when night comes the mesh changes its self prelight to a dark generic prelight if you made a cheap prelight but if you made a Radiosity Prelight(what we can see in most Las Venturas casinos) then your meshes will look alot better.

Radiosity at the start is fking hard, but with pratice you get awsome results, i self recommend 3D Max 7,8 or 9 for raidosity since 2009 and 2010 are much focused on realism that Radiosity doesnt shine so awsome like it did with old Max versions and you get a near dark mesh in-game.

Man, i really dont know how you do the buildings but, in this video you can clearly see the diference between DimitriX Buildings and your buildings.

Its not that im always Bitching, is that i love the Quality in Mods, i know maybe this is your first Mod.Really if it was my first Mod i wouldnt make a TC.

1-The Map misses a whole Organization, you put buildings in a so Random way, it looks messed up, it gives an empty feel.
2-I noticed in some of those Sketchup Buildings no-valid Faces, by this i mean that are Planed with no Double-Face Property, you see them by one side and on the other is gone.
3-The Alpha textures have no Alpha channel in .TXD file, since they come all white.
4-Try having a regular Brightness level in COL'S, CJ gets Uber Lightned when on Streets,and once he is inside one block it gets damn fking Dark, i would recommend you to keep the level of brightness not so high but not so dark in every mesh you put inside the map so 2DFX lightning effects do their Job.
5-Some Buildings have missing COL'S, thats maybe couse the building is to big and COL editor has a limit of Area to Col with Kam's Extracted Col files, use Steve-M col Maker or Deniska One and you wont have those lil Buggies.

Really, the real Quality of this Mod is only on the first part, all the rest of the city looks dark and misses alot of life.

But continue it, this is not a post to say you "f*ck OFF with this mod it wont have success, all i say is to put it all the effort and Quality you can"

Vans is correct.

I don't think this is gonna be a good mod, look at Alien City or something. They did years over there mod and you are making alot of buildings in a to short time. And this city is gonna be huge!!! I think this mod is dead over some months.

and the whole city is flat, roads are at the same altitude, that makes it look kinda bad

Oh Yeah!! I love how ppl steals other persons work!

The whole scene in thos photos are not more than DimitriX buildings, better call it "DimitriX NY modded by Us" couse this is a mod made 3/4 of DimitriX meshes.
i doupt highly you modeled that, how come!! i have that city too? maybe couse is released? dozingoff.gif
