small update,

didn't add much streets but changed the mountains, added some rivers

and made the map a little bit larger:

I wonder what the chances are of a next gen console being able to run that map (honestly, the next gen consoles to not look that much more powerful IMO) because that is exactly the map I want for GTA VI.

R* Already did a great job  being able to make gta v's map and graphics possible on ps3 and xbox 360.

And if the Crew is able to have a map of the whole USA then rockstar can definitely make a smaller map like mine with awesome graphics and detail.

Manilove & Spudsy:

gtusa_mini_V7_spudsy_manilove.png

Manilove is like Salt Lake City, while Spudsy is supposed to be emulate Boise.

Almost done with the western cities.

Surprised to see this is still going, Too many maps have been made to comment individually, but I love what's been presented :) I think we've reached that lul in actual game activity since the release of V, people are looking for other GTA related projects, and evidently its paying off - i love how we've moved away from 'the big (typical) 3' gta cities, glad to see (among more traditional, and don't get me wrong, amazing) more diverse maps, especially liking the renditions of Pheonix, Honululu, Salt Lake City and Indiannapolis - I'm also loving the name parodies, especially the takes on Hawaii's various districts! All in all, i've been busy with work recently, but when i get a spare minute i think i'm gonna start a new couple of maps, maybe a concept for GTA VI as well - thanks guys! :)

Milehigh -  This is supposed to be like Denver.

Yes, that's how the airport actually looks.  Look at it on Google Maps.

This map is almost completely done. Really the only things left are minor adjustments and details.

Lonestar is in the style of Texas cities.  It combines elements of Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, and Fort Worth.

gtusa_mini_V7_lonestar.png

All of the western cities are completed.  Here is the map so far (huge).

I haven't added any smaller towns in yet.  I'm just sticking with the major cities for now.  I will fill minor towns in with the rest of the country areas.  Some of the minor towns will be different from the ones in previous games.  They changed from GTASA to GTA5 anyway.  It doesn't seem like they are fixed in the GTA universe.

I went with "Cliffwood" for the Malibu-type area along the coast.   I don't think I will include a Salton Sea desert area like in GTA 5.  Chilead could be a mountain from SF to LS.

Now that I'm thinking about it, is Ludendorff a major city? IIRC it's got a little over 900 people in it.

My version is going to have about 100K.  It will be like a combination of Fargo and Bismarck, ND.  Like the Wikia page says, it was probably a parody on Bismarck.

http://en.wikipedia....rich_Ludendorff

http://en.wikipedia....to_von_Bismarck

Bismarck is 60K

http://en.wikipedia....k,_North_Dakota

Fargo is 107K

http://en.wikipedia....o,_North_Dakota

It's not "major", but considering what is surrounding it, it is the biggest thing in the neighborhood.

The other city in the high plains far north is Round Butte, which is a combination of a lot of Montana cities like Helena, Missoula, Butte, and Bozeman.  The footprint looks makes them look almost as big as some of the larger cities, but they will be more sprawled and have fewer high rise buildings.  A lot of the gray area in those cities is supposed to be large agricultural and mineral-based factories.

Bismark has a little over 60,000 people. Ludendorff has 918. Compare that to Liberty City and New York City, both of which have a population of around 8 million. If anything, I think Ludendorff is just a small town that happens to be named after a German guy, much like many of the towns in the upper midwest that have strong German influences, such as New Ulm, MN.

I can easily change the name of the town to something else.  I originally had a town up there called "Fargone", but went with Ludendorff since it was an established GTA place name.  It would serve the same purpose either way - some place to stop by in the snowy, windy northern parts of the map, and do some small time crimes.

I agree Luddendorf is not Bismarck. It's probably like you said that its just a small northern town.

San Andreas Map Update 1.6(Los Santos Done!)

Im finally back for the final version of the Los Santos portion of my map. I lost my vibe to make maps a while ago, but it came back so i am back with another update.

The full image can be found here

P2mKDXN.jpg

Change log

-Finished east Los Santos and Vinewood Hills

-Changed some buildings

-Remapped Chumash and the coast

-Added more mountains

District Map

M3vxs1Z.jpg

Main districts in words

Downtown Los Santos

The land of rich business douche bags. if you work in

one of the skyscrapers here in downtown, you

probably live in Rockford Hills and abuse your wife. It

may seem like the best place to work. But be careful,

there are enough criminals to fill all the buildings in

Downtown. So if your thinking taking a midnight stroll

around the block, think again.

Vinewood

Dreams are made here and lost here, but mostly lost here.
It may seem like it, but its not all glitz and glamour. 80% of
Vinewood is just rundown apartments. And if your roaming
around this 80% without a gun, your probably gonna
get mugged. But what do you expect? Its Los Santos, where
crime is as common as our fake boobs and cockroaches.

Del Perro

Just admit it. This neon filled beach is basically a giant

advertisement. The only reason anyone comes to Del

Perro is to spend their money on overpriced carnival

games. I mean why wouldnt you want to spend $20 on

a stuffed bear?

South Los Santos

Unless your in a gang. You know your gonna get shot

down by a crackheas. And thats pretty much everything

you need to know about South Los Santos.

Gang map

Nice LS map.  It looks almost like the San Andreas map rotated to the right 90 degrees, and expanded.  It also adds elements from the real LA and GTA V's map.

Here's another city on the big US map.  It is a city called Twins, which is scaled down version of the Twin Cities (Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota) metro area.

gtusa_mini_V8_twins.png

The big building on the bottom is a mall which will be like the Mall of America in Bloomington.

Lol I like it. But maybe you should have called Brooklyn Park Broker Park instead. It would be more realistic.

I called Brooklyn Rookline in my LC.  I'm not really following the HD universe naming of neighborhoods and boroughs.  Brooklyn was called Portland in GTA III and Brocklyn in GTA1.  It will probably be something else next GTA in LC.

Another updated map.   This shows the progress so far, and where I decided to put Cottonmouth and Carcer City from Manhunt series (which I never played BTW, so I know practically nothing about them).  I also changed the Malibu-like area in Los Santos to Chumash, though It doesn't show on this map.

Cottonmouth is in the GTA universe parody of Florida (possibly based on Orlando or Tampa) as said in the game. Carcer also may be Camden, New Jersey so you should work on your placement maybe. BTW, you maybe should include every state capital that you didn't include yet.

Your map looks great, but the cities seem WAY too close to each other because of the scale. If you made America itself larger and the cities smaller then it would look great, IMO. You should also include every capital city to make the map seem larger and to give each state some recognition.
