Yes, I believe him though, it's obvious that they would release a patch for EFLC as well, like they did with the 360/PS3 version.

Anyone who owns a game site and is on RockStar games UK mailing list probably got that email but no release date was in it sorry.

I am guessing it will be soon though considering it has a number and stuff smile.gif

The full press release I got I have typed up here http://www.ghoststor...or-gtaiv-on-pc/

... remade shadow algorithm? ... '1.0.6.0'? nearly unbelievable.

More cheating protection, and removing RGSC since it'd be easier to drop it than change it to support both EFLC and IV? More believable. I'm guessing it's true... but moon... MOON? WITH LUNAR PHASES? We PC users haven't had that since, SA/PS2? wow.gif smile.gif

Hmm I will remain cautiously skeptical, lets face it Toronto so far hasn't had a good history with it's patches. If the Patch does what it says then great, kudos, icon14.gif icon14.gif nice one, bout f*cking time mind you it has only been nearly 2 f*cking years.

However there is a wise old saying that goes "beware of Canadians bearing gifts".

This sounds awesome, but i'm not sure if this is true.
Why is it Patch 1.0.6.0 then, it should be 1.0.0.5 or may they jumped to 1.0.0.6.
I'll wait until Rockstar Games announce it officially.

Finally!

EDIT:

To run benchmarking from the command line, enter the directory where you have installed Episodes from Liberty City  and locate the executable “LaunchEFLC.exe“

Seems like there will be some selection menu in-game.

seriously i wish i could send them a big fu for putting some less resource intensive stuff in, now that the eps are coming out??? the game came out, what almost two years ago on pc and u release them now with the episodes when ppl have already bought multicore systems and have been nevertheless frustrated with the performance and....!!! <insert a 'ffffffffffuuuuu' face here> suicidal.gif barf8bd.gif icon13.gif angry.gif

as much as i love gta series and other R* games, this is screwing over pc gamers over and over again. seems like they wanted it sluggish all way from beginning maybe to get ppl upgrade their pcs for windows 7? nothing like some extra $$$ from M$..!

[i have fingers crossed for it not to break something yet again in the fashionable torontooo style]

Good to see you back Charlie. I agree with you, hopefully it's true but I'm skeptical considering I've had a trouble ticket open with them for I don't know 6-8 months and I haven't received an email from them detailing this news..

Ok can I just ask, why would I lie and what would I gain from it?

I have just asked rockstargames via twitter when there will be an 'announcement' on the GTA site regarding this but as their twitter is american it could be some time before they answer me if at all they do.

Thats why I stated I will ask on the phone tomorrow - if anyone could point me into the right direction for an app that RECORDS IPHONE CALLS then I will do so tomorrow so you know that i have actually spoken to a rockstar employee and if needs be I will go through the main line rather than his direct line so that you can hear a rockstar uk greeting smile.gif

Hopefully this patch will NOT introduce MORE BUGS.
Seeing as they actually enhancing performance is a very good thing, shame there will be no AA.
This is the last patch people, hopefully it will not suck.

Most of all I REALLY HOPE they managed to implement some kind of an anti cheat system and that these same improvemenst are already present in EFLC (which i guess are)

Forget the anti cheat, people will ALWAYS find ways to exploit a game. One big impact they can do it remove tuga from the game. That will cut the sh*t in half in terms of annoying in MP.

I don't doubt the genuinity of this information, but I would like to wait until it's released, I'm not getting my hopes up. Because this sounds too good to be true... sigh.gif

Seems that they've been working hard on this one. We haven't had a new patch for some time now, and now we've also got EFLC. icon14.gif

Oh, and... The Moon? WOW. =P

EDIT: As for the patch release date, have a look:
QUOTE (GhostStorm)
