Anyone believing the Ronaldo back to Man Utd?
Bale to RM?

Nah, Ronaldo is staying Madrid. Bale is going there though. Heard the offer is 100m+ a player. Also heard that the deal is done and that all is left is Spurs picking a player. monocle.gif

Anyone hear that Chelsea is trying to get Khedira?

Ronaldo wont be going back to United, if Bale is going for £87 mil to Madrid then United must have to pay something in the region of £100 mil for Ronaldo and i dont see United doing that.

80% of me say the Ronaldo thing is bollocks, but 20% just thinks there is something in it. The newest rumour is that Nike will finance half the deal.

The Ronaldo to united speculation was always going to happen with the Bale to Madrid move.

I've always thought if he was to move it would be back to united, but doubt it happening with Fergie gone.

Bale may play down the middle.

Something's going down on the 8th August so watch that space.

Sky Sources said that there was interest in Ronaldo but no bid was made so something could happen.

Why the 8th August?

I honestly cant see Man United paying all that money for Ronaldo to be honest. Like someone already said this was always going to happen as soon as the Bale move was pretty certain. I think the Fabregas move has more credibilty than the Ronaldo one does and i dont even seen Fabregas going to Man United either.

If we pay the fee then Nike will be involved since they want Ronaldo back in a Nike kit.

There is a huge flaw to that plan.......... David Moyes smile.gif

And if Nike want him in a Nike kit then there are others that he could choose from, PSG maybe even Manchester City?

Ancelotti has been playing Ronaldo like more of a striker so depending on the formation Real Madrid's attack will be

Isco-Özil-Bale
Ronaldo

Or if he goes with the Christmas tree it will probably be

Özil-Alonso-Modric
Isco-Bale
Ronaldo

Well Barcelona are hammering Santos (to be expected) and so far it's 7-0

the main things to note from this friendly is that Tata has brought back the Guardiola early days of high pressing, Barcelona have been alot more direct and there's been less meaningless passes, Fabregas is actually playing his best position (MF) as opposed to false 9, Alexis Sanchez & Pedro are rotating often on the wings.

Alot of positives so far for Tata Martino, it's important not to take too much from a friendly but as it's Barcelona this is definitely a hint of whats to come.. now if they can win something, i'm sure it will kick Spain back into gear too just in time for the WC2014.

I doubt us or PSG would need financial assistance. wink.gif

---

I also doubt the majority of Citizens would want him near our club. The 'once a c*nt, always a c*nt' song and abuse he was getting during the City-Madrid match may have indicated to Tranny our feeling towards him. wink.gif

It's not a financial assistance it's more of 'we are the Glaziers so f*ck you' kind of situation.

EDIT: August 8th is a incoming transfer for United. You wouldn't believe it if I told you where I got this information from... turn.gif

The whole thing about Nike paying some of the money for the Ronaldo deal seems total bollocks. Would they really be THAT bothered about him playing in a Nike kit? I mean they already sponsor him and get a sh*t load of publicity from him, plus he already does play in a Nike kit, for Portugal. It just seems ludicrous that they'd pay half, or any money for that matter, just so he's seen more regularly in a kit with a tick on it. It just doesn't make sense to me and seems totally made up. Is there any precedent of any sponsor of any player of any sport, ever financing a move just so the player is in their kit?

Bale and Ronaldo are both very versatile, and they could definitely both play in the same team. Bale is not better than Ronaldo either, so why would Real sell him anyways? It would make them weaker. From the sounds of it the plan is to offload another player, like Di Maria or Modric, who won't be needed when Bale arrives. Real won't be selling Ronaldo, he's just too important to them. And if they were to sell him, I'm sure it wouldn't be for cheap. I certainly can't imagine it'd be less than the Bale fee.

If he's going anywhere, I'd imagine it'd be to PSG. But like I said, I highly doubt he is going anywhere.

I'm not the one to get my hopes up and get excited but something is going on. There has definitely been interest from United in Ronaldo and it's football so anything can happen.

If Ed Woodward pulls it off then I'm calling for a statue...

Remember a few world cups ago when the Brazilian Ronaldo was injured for the final? Nike made the decision 100% that he HAD to play, injured or not. I think you would be surprised at how powerful they are and how much money they have. They will have a massive influence on a destination if he did leave.

I am about 40% believing it now.

Nike throwing extra money into United outside of the sponsorship deal would surely break some sporting law and even the new FFP rules. Ronaldo won't be at United come September.

What are these new FFP rules? They surely can't be to stop clubs from spending too much money with all this talk about Bale for £100+m..

With Madrid's TV deal and overall income, they can probably afford the 100M anyway.

The rules set up for the FFP is basically to stop clubs spending a crap load of money that they don't have. You're only allowed to spend the income you make and that has to be balanced out between transfers and wages for the year. If you go over the limit you do have something like a 4 year period to break even again, failing that you get a ban from Europe until you meet the criteria again. Money spent on stadiums and youth set ups do not count towards FFP.

Doesn't seem like too many teams are arsed about it though.

There is a guy over a RedCafe who broke the Cristiano Ronaldo story before it hit the news papers. He also has a screenshot of him sending a message to the journalist who apparently broke the story but this message was sent two days ago.

Football's back, baby!

Well kinda. It was the Championship today. Wigan are top after beating Barnsley 4-0. Definitely gonna be watching Football League show tonight (highlights of the games). It'll be the Community Shield next Saturday (Sunday?) won't it? Manu v Wigan. Not exactly the most enthralling Community Shield there's ever been, but it'll do.

Is this the first time a second tier team has played a community shield match?

I'm picking Wigan by the way.
