I really enjoyed that, Meta. Sounded familiar. May I have heard it in an ad or a game?

This is a bit glitchy/acidy and not so loungey but the video to accompany it, is marvelous. Plaid are on the Warp label ;)

And now for something completely different. This is a great Disco-Funk track... not sure if I posted it before.. it's feel good though...

"Music and lights, I'll sing and dance with you all night, sequins and pearls (and lots of pretty girls) you gotta have RHYTHM!!" :p

That reminds me quite a bit of HEALTH, and that Dan Croll song was on Radio Mirror Park if I'm not mistaken.

And a song from these lovely gals.

@Scratch: Yea, that Dan Croll track was also featured on the trailer for the PC/Next Gen announcement.

My word, what a fantastic thread. I've only read a couple of pages so far but I think I'll be going though this whole thread over the next few days to pick up some new music.

I've been a massive trip-hop and downtempo fan for years, here's some of my old favorite tracks, some of them will probably be reposts, in which case you have my apologies, but it'll give you guys some idea of what I like. Can't wait to see what I discover here. Consider me a new member of this thread.

From Psyence Fiction, the album that started it all for me after I stole it out of my brothers bedroom over a decade ago.

One of my favorite tracks from one of my all time favorite artists.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=TPiBjEVUHaA

Why this track only has around 400 views on youtube I do not know.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=z3grqa6t71w

Such mellow. So wow. Much awesome.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=MVMXP3T3mTQ

Love that double bass and and syncopated drums.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=ba_R7waXMh0

More awesome double bass with some wicked breaks. More acid jazz I quess, but it seems to fit this thread. Unfortunatly the superior live version isn't available on youtube.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=igOU5PVQiuo

Always prefered the vocals on this version.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=_ZpnIT3glUI

From one of my old favorite coming home from the club at 5am albums.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=HZfduWjapnU

Those J Dilla style beats mixed with mellow jazzy melodies. They both died far too early. Rest in beats, brothers.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Ql48JkvBQiE

Such a mellow album, it makes everything so less stressful.

Okay, I'm going to stop there or else I'll be here for f*cking hours. Christ, this brought back some memories.

Edit:

Is there is a two video limit per post? If not I must be being a bit retarded. Either way, I've made the others at least clickable links so you don't have to f*ck around copy and pasting.

Welcome - and yea about 90% of these have been shared in the thread at one point or another in the last 4 years - nothing wrong with dusting them off though. I listened to UNKLE way more times than should be legal well after it dropped. Anything with DJ Shadow and Dan the Automator is going to be a win. heh.

And yea after the forum updated it's version we went to a two video limit - the thread standard used to be a limit of 3 embeds but 2 is fine - stops you from using up all your fav songs in one post.

Here's a few without further adieu...

Been on the forums for about 5 years.  Never seen this thread.  I've been through about 4 pages and found about 20 sick tunes.  Thanks so much.  It's arduous going through YouTube channels and Spotify lists to find new music but you guys have really good taste and it's much appreciated.  I'm gonna have to come here more often.  I listen to a lot of Down Tempo and generally chilled stuff so I'll be sure to contribute.  I know at least one of these has probably been posted before but here's some of my favourite Bonobo tracks...

Boris Blenn: Berlin Future Lounge. The entire album is worth the listen. My personal favorite is the track "Beachbar" starting at 27:02. This guy just gets it.

Haven't posted here in years, figured I'd drop some bombs.

My favorite chill-out song right now by my current favorite group, they're playing in KC in August, but there's no way I'd be able to afford it.

The ridiculous alliteration, rhyme, flow and delivery of the first verse absolutely blow me away every single time I hear it. Not to mention lyrics are strait up poetry.

From the "lone" British "band" formed by Russ Davies, "Cinnamon Chasers". This is his most recent release, you should check out some of his older work, it's sublime. Pro-tip: Check out "The Day That Never Came." Both this and that will be sure to provoke some feelings as well.

Now, my fragile memory definitely doesn't remember if this has been posted or not. If so, my apologies. A$AP's good production and Bear//Face's alternative music style really make this track a wonder for your ears. Be sure to be ready for some bass, and I mean it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsnAPpXOPJY

The famous/infamous OFWGKTA has his share of aliases but also a great share of controversy. All things considered, we're all better off focusing on the song, pretty bass heavy as well, but it has quite the relaxing power to it. Try it out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXHKo0lwi3U

Welcome to nineteen-ninety-eight. If you enjoy your 90's deep house, you'll most certainly enjoy this. Not much to say, really.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fCtvurGDD8

Change of style. Drum and bass mixed with Birdy's really talented voice. Nu:Logic have their fame, and they did not disappoint here.

I shall return with more.

PS: Shame there is a two embed per post limit. :(

Heard the remix of this on Majestic Casual Chapter 2 album. Both equally dope.

And Toro y Moi has always been a favorite of mine. This album especially. Very Dilla-esque.

I'll try and dig deeper for some more obscure stuff to add to this already awesome thread.

EDIT:

Yeah the 2 embed limit is a downer.

Had to share this link. St. Etienne - Wood Cabin.

I sampled this track for an instrumental I made a while back.

@SweatyPalms - Welcome - Glad you could find some great new music here to add to a playlist or whatevs - Love Bonobo, Kiara is like a personal theme song for me or something. heh.

@The IllaDopest: Absatively posolutely. Thanks for sharing.

@Zxi: Had a nice early 2000 Orlando Chill-Out compilation vibe for me.

@The-King: Welcome back - Purity Ring's a given but that D.Gookin was a fresh shot in the arm.

@Spider - That amazing A$AP joint was used in the credits of an obscure little fan made GTA video a year or so back.

@Verdi: Really liked that Jabberwocky song - that video was pretty mental. If you're into making instrumentals feel free to drop a link to one here - always up for hearing new artists.

A few more for the pile here...

Fresh off the presses..

Dude has a fantastic "Higher Love" cover - if you haven't heard it yet def check it out.

Pretty amazing stuff, Meta. And yeah, I do remember For The Love of Money, which was also an amazing job. ;)

Here's some more nice stuff, starting out with a pretty sexy bassline on this one:

And now a deeper summery tune.

If you like nice and deep basslines, this one is for you too!

Sorry, thought this thread was to drop any cool songs we like, so I originally ended up posting a couple of very fast-paced dubstep songs. :pp

I've just editted them out now.

Hope this is more along the lines of what's acceptable here:

Really enjoying the great tunes in this thread, they'll be great in making those long hours studying more enjoyable.

For those in a higher mood, you may enjoy this 17 year old record, what is for me one of the great starting points of Trance. The power of the sweeping synthesisers after the middle of the song (e.g. 3:22) is simply amazing for 1997.

Here's something very different today.

However that's not a preference for everyone so I'll also leave something relaxing here, as before:

@Spider: Big Nosaj fan. Consistently awesome and complex

@.Pink. Skulls. Skulls everywhere.

@Dice: All quality music welcome. This thread has seen just about every genre,

Many will know female vocalist and musician Kimbra from her hit with Gotye, "Someone That I Used to Know."

But many don't know is that she is seriously one of the most impressive live vocalists to emerge in the last ten years.

Here are few of my favorite examples of her studio quality voice just killing it.
