Well it's definitely been a while. Love seeing some new Sigur Ros fans in here, definitely one of the best groups in history.

My latest infatuation has been with the well known Haim. They are just truly brilliant. They bring, what I feel, something completely fresh and different to music that in recent times has struggled to do so. I couldn't pick just one song so here's a full performance.

I love Haim. Saw them this year in Scotland and going to Latitude in July so will probably catch them again. They've got a certain amount of energy to their performances which means that while their songs are like Fleetwood Mac their performances are more in a hip-hop vein.

Of course me enjoying them so much may have had something to do with the weather being fantastic (for the first T in the Park in about 10 years so I heard :p ), and me having an almost unlimited supply of chilled Blackthorn aha...

I'm really looking forward to seeing them again as I'm more familiar with their album tracks -- hopefully the atmosphere will be just as good this time around.

---

Also loving the Sigur Ros love here. I recall the first time I heard the opening to Hoppipolla it was like opening a completely new genre for me.

Latest Majestic Casual upload doesn't disappoint.

Speaking of people who I saw live and loved here's Peace. This is just the audio as for some reason their video was age-restricted and f*ck setting up a Google+ account.

@Mockage: I love Moby. And Cillie Barnes is brilliant. RAC do some great remixes.

Better yet about Jamie, heard the future "Girl" track he's releasing? James Blake mocked James' name in his Residency in BBC Radio 1 as to not give away that it was a Jamie xx creation, but it definitely is from the Sleep Sound/Girl EP. As it's blocked in here for some reason, try searching for "Simon Tallywhacker - Bloke".

Soooo good.

I think the new forum software only allows two YT embeds per post. Sucks but less videos on one page is a little easier on my ageing laptop.

Nice Moby and Rjd2 btw, brings me back. (Gonna ignore the Killers link)

Nice trap remix on a track I've listened to into the ground at this point.

James Blake finally revealed the track I talked about before was indeed Jamie xx's "Girl" on his Residency last night, it should be all over YouTube soon, but here's the Radio One stream. Six days left to listen, it's the first track.

Smooth as hell Jamie, smooth as hell.

@Harley: Checked out that Iglooghost - You're right a big chunk of that album had some sort of block on it that prevented me from converting them to an MP3. Nicely there were a few separate recordings of individual tracks I was able to nick without issue.

@Spider: Good stuff.

Here's a couple tracks that caught my ear this week.

Has probably already been posted very recently, but as it is always good to remember, here goes. Four Tet just turns everything he touches into an amazing piece of music. Just to think that this song was supposed to be on Radio Mirror Park in GTA V and was eventually cut...

What a good song. Shame though, it could add some balance to RMP since some of the songs on it are terrible.

This is good stuff. I'd love if sh*t like this was in GTA V.

@Spider: I don't think that's been played in here previously but it's super-catchy and has been in my playlist for a minute now.

@Mockage: Sounds like Driving music to me.

@Harley: Ended up checking out a lot more Tirzah following that track, great stuff.

Really got into Ta ku over the weekend this is an excellent and worthy homage to J Dilla.

Will drop another Sigur Ros song in here, fellas. This is material that deserves to be repeated over and over.

Some James Blake. His style seems to be changing a bit but it is still pretty nice. If you own a good subwoofer, make use of it. Now.

@Mockage: def feeling those like Clams Casino, XXYYXX sample some surprisingly contemporary artists for their tracks.

@Mr Scratch: Remixing a Marley track is tricky business -but they pulled it off well.

Not terribly old on either count but certainly worth dusting off.
