By the way, this scene has minor differences between platforms.
 
1) When Phil takes his seat behind the drums, the camera is positioned differently.

P.S. Those damn lights! They're using texture of circle on PSP, but either missing it or not using it on purpose on PS2.
 
BTW. Do you guys look into both versions to get the best, or do you only use PS2 build?

For cutscene stuff, we just take from the PS2 version, BUT how we use it often comes out different, for example, the cutscene for "Fear the Repo" ends earlier on the PS2 version cutting out Marty's last words, but when we converted it over, we don't have that early fade out, so the PC version has the full cutscene like the PSP version. Or "Conduct Unbecoming" where somehow, by complete accident, we included an extended conversation between Phil and Vic that wasn't present in either PSP or PS2 versions, even though we took it from the PS2 version. :p

As for the lights, THEY ARE BROKE ON PS", but even more amazing, we're using BOTH on PC version somehow by insane accident, so the file was there on PS2, just cut out wrong:

Fun Fact: All PSP Textures in that area, amazing enough one of the bigger events of the game wasn't important enough to get a texture boost on the PS2. :p

Well, the words "Vice City" are just written in Rage font, "Phil Collins", iirc, looks just the same as on every Phil's album art, and his face image is easy googleable, I guess. If you could just send me these two textures, I'd like to play with them.

Yep, found it myself two seconds ago. Still, the ingame variant seems to be simplified and left side of his face put into shadow.

BTW. I remember some guy on YT commenting his video: "This guy has Chuck Norris on the guitar and Gandalf on the bass!"

Even just a few more missions in the next update would be cool, as I know most of the effort have been on improving the visuals of the city, which is great. :) Can't wait for it though, VCS is my 2nd fav GTA and seriously deserved a PC port. There should have been a "Stories" PC double-pack like GTA 3 and VC for Xbox. :p

Just another small update, washingtoN is now remastered, still looks rough in some areas, since I shown off the main buildings in a previous update ages ago (back when I first started this remastering thing) decided to show the smaller details this time:

A little something to bring the topic back to life.

We've been messing with Field of View quite a lot recently, and since my aimpoint fix (Build 1226 crosshair is not perfectly accurate) made R* horizontal FOV be treated as vertical FOV, I had to realter it. Now it's just fine:

Hoodlum No-DVD is a best as compatibility with CLEO mods especially, so I have a suggestion about next version of ViceCity Stories (Silver Palmetto):
 
1. Installer to have an option player to choose what the exe to be - the normal Hoodlum No-DVD exe (if user want to use a CLEO mods within the game) or the VCS' executable file like one on current release (Blue Hesper).
2. I would like if @Silent can download last version of CLEO (4.3.16) from sannybuilder.com and make it compatible with the next Beta Silver Palmetto for those who chose an installation with VCS's standalone exe instead of with Hoodlum's one for original San Andreas.
 
About item 1, I suggest this because I've played VCS Blue Hesper with CLEO 4.1.1.30F and while some scripts worked fine (like Double Jump, Never Wanted, Infinite Health, etc), most of other type scripts (like for Producing Explosions, Spawning Vehicles, Vehicle Jumps) caused my VCS exe to crash quite often, so I've had to stop using those type of CLEO mods (in fact they was worked on ViceCity Stories, but crashes the game too, probably because VCS exe appears to be not 100% compatible with many of these type of CLEO mods) due to different memory addresses. Interesting is, these same CLEO scripts work fine with Hoodlum exe on my original San Andreas game WITHOUT PRODUCING even a single fatal error... So that why I wan Ash_735 and Silent to include feature noted in item 1 above... About item 2, this is because on sannybuilder there is only ver. 4.3 (and CLEO 3) is available for download, as you can no longer able to get ver.4.1.1 from there. :whuh:

Afraid not. VCS PC is built around the compact exe as it is the most documented and most workable for us. If we use alt exes then it severely messes up some functions and breaks the game, something we learned with the beta 2 release. That's why we now force a modified compact exe in the patcher so we can guarantee things work as they should. You have to remember this is still a WIP and the changes we're making WILL require other mods to be adjusted to work with VCS PC.

Changes wise it is like a new game, MapEd and TXD Workshop won't work properly with the mod anymore for example. That isn't some bastard move, it's just because we're using more modern methods on the game which luckily the SA engine supports.

To sum it up, this is like a new game and we're not changing our ways to try and support old SA based tools.
