Work done by Silent and help from NTA has resulted in something which I'm not going to announce yet.


If it is what I think it is, then I hope its done on more than just VCS. :p But if its not that, I most likely sound pretty stupid right now, especially since a lot of people don't know what I'm talking about.

Turns out it wasn't what I thought, god dammit science!

Silent is trapped without internet, but he told me what he's working on. Let's just say its more engine stuff but now another installation complaint has been resolved and people can say goodbye to any .NET 3.5 issues!

Work done by Silent and help from NTA has resulted in something which I'm not going to announce yet.

Overall we're just working on some boring minor things, I've finished the logo for the next project build, so we'll be saying goodbye to the Blue Hesper builds not long from now.

Funny though, I saw Silent liked this post =) Using mobile internet? =)

Hi. I decided to make converted models more suitable for San Andreas and have added optional night prelight generating because original prelight looks too bright ingame.

 

Originally prelight looks like this without inserting night prelight section (models looks same brighty at night):

VCS PC Engine? Did you change the engine? Or are you going to port VCS on standalone engine? Like  UNITY? 

All GTA have this same engine
I mean GTA III, LCS, VC, VCS, SA have RenderWare.
It's funny, cuz VC looks "older" than VCS (I mean anims etc) but it's this same engine.
:r*:  even don't update engine.

 

they definitely updated the engine as they went along, vice city was built from III and possibly san andreas too (to add many things like skeletal animation) and saying all the III-era games run on renderware is just incorrect. III, VC, and SA only used the graphics portion of renderware while the rest was in-house. LCS and VCS don't use it at all because rockstar may have considered it too inefficient to use on a portable system, and so they made their own graphics solution.

 

 

Nope. As Far as I know, EA bought Renderware so Rockstar couldn't use it anymore.

It's been brought up dozens of times already. The fact these games use different graphics engines doesn't mean they don't share core. They all share the same core, with RW being replaced with Rsl3D the lazy way - it was made to be partially compatible with RW, so they'd probably have to replace very little of core game code.

VCS PC Engine, of course such thing does not exist, it seems to have appeared as a fancy name for SA engine with VCS PC features and code improvements. Just like you could call VC engine a III engine with improvements.

Future upgrade or next update will have more missions? Since I only saw second at this time there are 7 missions to play.

Not until they can make the converted one bug-free - there are still leftover issue Silent and NTA are trying to deal with before moving on (They know the cause, just don't know how to solve it, yet).

And like Ash said, there are already more than 7 missions converted

Well Silent is still down without Internet, the other guys are busy elsewhere and I'm just messing around with stuff, one thing I've always wanted for the mod is for someone to come help and redo the weapon icons, but no one ever took it serious enough, so hell, today, I'm seeing how far I can take it with my slightly ok skills:

Hey, like I said, my skills for weapon icons arn't great, but we asked ages ago, not many people offered to help, not saying these will even be in the mod, I'm just just seeing how well I can try and do them but I'm already bored, haha, but I have the backing template finished, so if anyone wants to have a go, let me know.

Well I gave up on the weapon stuff, but on the plus side, fontset is now done, so now the game has language support for:

 

- English

- French

- Italian

- German

- Spanish

- Polish

- Portuguese

 

If anyone wishes to translate in that direction.
