ATTENTION:
The latest updater (released with Build 1220) came with an issue which made self-update (updater.exe/UptModule.ll update) impossible. Fixed binaries have been uploaded already, but if you already updated your game the updater will not be able to install a new version of itself. Therefore, please download this update manually and put these 2 files in updater folder in your game directory:

I guess the Empire real estate feature will take a while to be implemented, as it's one of VCS's major game mechanics, with multiple options and missions for each business, along with revenue and gang attacks. I suppose it really needs to be fully fleshed out for the mod before it's implemented. 

 

I am super keen for next weeks mystery update, though. I wonder what it could be? It surely couldn't be more missions, since the next few revolve around the Empire business management.

A few minor bugs I noticed today:

 

1. When you hop into a vehicle with an automatic weapon, it isn't automatically equipped for drive-by's and must be manually selected before you enter the vehicle.

 

2. During "Taking out the white trash" when you aim a gun at the attacking white trash guys, they immediately surrender and wait to be killed. While this is both fun and kinda realistic, it didn't happen in the original game. The white trash guys also say the wrong dialogue during the fight (they sound Hispanic).

Hey, a little suggestion.

 

Could you make it so the passenger driveby isnt so fast like in the original game?

Because the way it is in VCS, you empty an MP5 magazine in 1-2 seconds while drive-bying, besides not being that good it would get kinda unfair on PvP, blowing cars too fast cuz of the fast drive by etc.

 

However, SA's original is too slow so perhaps you could keep the firing rate like when you are shooting the weapon on foot, that would be the best choice I guess. Or if the normal fire rate is too fast, maybe slow it down just a little bit etc.

Hello there! As you all probably know, Halloween is about to begin. We thought, if many people celebrate it celebrates it, why can't Vice City population celebrate it too?

In this package, updating your game to Build 1222 we have introduced an official, full support for Downloadable Content Packs. The first DLC pack which is going to appear is entitled Halloween Night Pack and will act as a timed (seasonal) DLC. What does it mean? Well, it has its own expiration date - as the pack is strictly oriented towards Halloween, it'll be available only between 30th October and 2nd November.

So, what does the Halloween Night Pack give? It changes Vice City environment a bit, altering weather and introducing jack-o-lanterns placed around the city. You may also be able to spot... zombies roaming around, but don't worry, they're the kind of zombies which are not harmful :p

Full update changelog is as follows:
  • NEW: VCS PC Edition now supports official Downloadable Content packs. The first package to arrive is a timed (seasonal) Halloween Night Pack, becoming available at 30th October and dissapearing at 2nd November.
  • FIX: More missing GXT entries re-added
  • FIX: Corrected some typos and punctuation errors in Polish translation
  • FIX: Misaligned Time Trials texts on 16:10 aspect ratio fixed
  • FIX: BMX Time Trials countdown is correct again

Looks like I'm going to need to back up the Halloween files. However I'm probably not gonna use it after Halloween

 

But do you guys think you may make an in game trainer for DLC? Lets you do things like:

-Replay missions

-Cheats

-Spawn any vehicle

-Teliports

 

Basically the typical stuff a trainer would have..

Is it based on original unfinished mechanisms that were used for DYOM? Will we be able to make and distribute our own DLCs that would include new weapons, vehicles and missions?
P.S. And yes, as nkjellman said, since original VCS allows us to watch every pre-mission cutscene upon completing the storyline, maybe you could add an option to replay missions, like in TBoGT? Maybe even secondary achievements?

The halloween pack is nice.. I have a suggestion for the next update:

 

In the military base, After i get caught hiding marijuana in my barracks and get out of the army. I shouldn't be able to enter the base again right? so when i try to jump off the roof climbing a shack next to the walls of the base ( You'll find it if you search deeply ) and enter the base..there should be soldiers to intercept me and prevent me from staying for more time in the base. I guess this suggestion would make the mod more realistic as i saw this in the PS2 version where soldiers used to shoot me when i enter the base.

 

Hope you take my suggestion in consideration..Good job btw..keep it up

The game can't recognize any packs not being official, but if one makes a good enough DLC, I don't see why we couldn't start supporting it.

MPACKs are pretty basic, only allow for custom SCM + they crash when saving if CLEO is installed. Besides, Haloween Night Pack does not mess with SCM at all.

Will be implemented at some point, I just didn't get into porting gang AI scripts yet.

Just downloaded and installed the updates... great job guys! This DLC application seems to work just fine, and needless to say, it's very funny to see those zombies walking around the city :alien:

Looking forward for future DLC's and game updates.

After 2nd November it won't show in the menu anymore. We decided to do so because it is pretty minor and only makes sense to appear near Halloween.

I have another suggestion..please allow us to purchase weapons from the ammunation. Each time i try to buy a weapon there it says: " OUT OF STOCK "

 

another suggestion..In order to make the game more realistic remove the enterable planes like the stunt plane in the international escobar ( Vice City Airport )

Official expansion packs published by devs for the game, either free or paid. Only the first ones will be released for VCS PC :p

About the solders. They attack you if your in the base. But if your outside the base they won't attack. They also don't attack when you fly over the base unless your really low. They don't attack if your behind them as they don't see you.

So to my point. Do you think you might make this on the original VC, and the original SA?

In VC, the solders attack you outside the base as they spawn on the street outside the base. It's retarded.
In SA, there are no solders. WTF Rockstar.

So you think you may adapt the code into an ASI script for these games?

The game freezes for me when I click on the Downloadable Content tab in the options menu. Says it created a .DMP but I can't seem to find it.

 

Oh, and also it freezes on the custom track player again which the previous update seemed to have fixed.

2. No and it never will, but we have bloom which is like 80% of the trails option on the ps2 verdion but as for the colour blurring gta3 and vc style, nope.

Guess I'm the only one having kinda broken timecyc and clock missing from HUD, am I?

EDIT. About the timecyc. Well, I start a new game and when the cutscenes end, it's dark outside already. But when I reach the VIP terminal and the screens starts to fade black, it's about midday again.

EDIT2. I get it that multicolored lights from lampposts are intentional? And, by the way, I still cannot find any pumpkin.

Same for me about timecyc. And some repeatedly voices during missions.

About the multicolored lights it might be like the witch into the moon and zombies in the street at night.

And so, I found some pumpkins in front of phil's old home !!!

Yeah, the clock disabled is a halloween thing as the timecyc has more night hours in this pack, so if you try and play normal missions, they will appear as night, same for the crazy lamp posts, I wanted them to appear somewhere so a halloween night mod with zombies roaming fit with it.

Dont take anything serious here, just a bit of fun with the mod to test the dlc engine as a way to have some holidays themes.

Also, see if you can find all 20 pumpkins. :p
