Haha, I remember trying to figure out where those sound effects were coming from in Rio de Janeiro.

It's already been established on this page that they are going to do that in this mod.

You can hear music in a given radius in SA, during the Beach Party mission.

And have you guys converted the sounds yet? the GUI, weapons sounds everything else? Would kill the VCS atmosphere and mood if you haven't.

And If you guys are trying to have patches, I suggest a launcher that can download it from there.

One question about LOD (this are the low detailed models used on longer distance, right?). Have you tweaked them to appear on a really long distance? Because in the Beta2, you can get some LOD's load too close, so it looks simply horrible, like on this screen:

I'm talking about the minor stuff, mainly engine start (when you first enter a vehicles or spawn one via cheat) and door open/close. Ash doesn't seem to interested in these even if it takes only a few seconds to replace them

In the BETA2 gameplay video I changed them and it really sounds better

You're acting like I DON'T want to replace the vehicle audio, I DO, I'm NOT however just going to dump the Vice City audio in there and call it that, I NEED to verify how it sounds in VCS first to make sure each category gets the right sounds, and the problem with that is, in VCS the audio archives are not listed, so it would require some serious digging through to get all of the vehicle audio, even though, yeah, it may sound identical to Vice City, but at least I'll know then and can tick it off.

The categorize is pretty much the same with VC, albeit much less (VC/VCS has only 3 whereas SA has 6). I even went so far to get the VC one matched for you guys already, so you just need to get the VCS one and replace it. It takes time to dig the archive I understand, VC and SA aren't named, so I cut the problem by half for you

Some engine sounds in VCS have a slightly higher pitch than their VC counterparts, engine sounds like the WinterGreen's engine sound, Esperanto's, even the Hunter rotor blades sound has a higher pitch than the VC version

Yes, and with the VCS archives outside of the main area being unnamed, it boils down to banks of soundXXXX.vag to shift through, which is really boring to, which is why I'm targeting other areas which are quick to replace and also add to the feeling but also closer linked, e.g. we've gone for weapons, so bullet collisions, bullet trails, etc, suit the priority.

A question about the vehicles in general.
In SA, vehicle parts like the hood, trunk, doors etc can be triggered to open/close individually. Although we have no access to these functions in singleplayer, we can manipulate them in the multiplayer.
My question is, are these parts still independent and working for every car?

I have a question. I'm pretty sure that you're going to be adding in all of the extra content that was added to the PS2 version, but are you going to be adding the 3 Turismo races that were only in the original PSP version?

Which races are present on PSP version but not PS2 version? I've never heard of such.

You know, I've never really checked the PSP Audio Archives, now to let people know, when sorting all of this audio out, there's a lot of leftover and unused stuff (Silent can prove that), and this is the PS2 version, so, tonight, just on a whim I decided to check out the PSP Archives, ...it has even more unused stuff! This should be fun.

One thing I did notice was the last second of the V Rock audio file was cut from the PS2 version. So it seems to jump when it loops back around. Just letting you know encase you plan on fixing it. If the PS2 one is higher quality, I wouldn't bother.

But I hope you found something good. I also hope that this mod will have landmines at some point (removed feature).

Also, do you guys know how to control which vehicle can drive on land and water in SA? SA only has the Vortex drive on both, but in VCS there is another vehicle that drives on both, and I can't remember what its called. It had 6 wheels and you could buy it at the compound safe house.

Any STREAM based audio is higher quality on the PS2 version, so yeah that would include radio stations, this archive stuff is mainly for scripted stuff and sfx material, such as mission audio, which to bring up, I'm seeing entries for a Gonzalez mission which doesn't exist in the game! biggrin.gif The PSP Archives also appear to have the Police Radio to!

We never said anything about the planes, I think someone mentioned the plan of using one of the jumbo planes to replace the huge plane in San Andreas but that idea never went forward.
