I've always played with inverted y axis I think because GTA used to be so that's what I got used to, now on all games it has to be inverted y otherwise it doesn't feel right.

Used to play with normal controls back on ps2, but once i got cod4 inverted felt right. Most people i know went from playing inverted to now normal. Lol when i got people over and we are playing mw2 online, whenever we take in turns we have to change the settings over.

Only recently I have developed a feel for Inverted. Every game I play gotta change up/down to inverted.

In another thread about Invertedness someone described it like Pulling the Right Stick back is like pulling your head back. You end up looking up, and pushing it forward is like pushing your head down, you end up looking down.

It made sense to me and now I cant stand controls that arn't inverted.

I play with Inverted Y axis controls as well. I used to play with normal controls, then when I got the PS2 I started playing a lot of games that had "inverted" controls as the default setting and got used to them. After that I was never able to play with normal controls again.

I play with an inverted Y-axis in every game. Probably stems from me having started out my video game playing with Flight Simulator as a kid. Pull back on the stick and the plane goes UP...not down. I guess that idea just stuck with me. I see the screen in 3D so pulling back to look up makes sense. I guess if you look at the screen as a 2D thing (as it actually is) inversion wouldn't make sense.

Sounds familiar. Was it me?

That's how I always thought of it. Like, flying a plane, pull, and it goes up.

Well...

It makes sense with a controller but with a mouse... no way.

*cough*

But yeah I play inverted. I think older games like Goldeneye the default was inverted so I've always played that way, could be wrong though.

Normal, all the way. I just feel instinct that if I want to look up, I toggle the stick up, and if I want to look right, I toggle the stick right. It just feels right to me. confused.gif

Call me odd but I actually switch. FPS has to be normal. 3rd Person...hell, even Gears or Army of Two must be inverted. I used to always play inverted but I used to get too lazy when playing my mates at Timesplitters 3 that I just stuck it out and learned to switch.

Now the only game I switch on is Guitar Hero as I'm a leftie.

Can't play inverted at all. Just feels so unnatural. I guess if I used it and practised enough with it on I'd get used to it, but really I'm f*cking lazy and I don't want to waste another 3 seconds trying to remember if pulling down is actually going to make me look downwards and not upwards the way I want it to be.

I always play with the Y-axis inverted, too. I'm not sure when it started, but probably when I first played GTA3.

My sister plays with both the X and Y-axis inverted. dontgetit.gif
