Vice City Edition

V3.1 Beta




GTA Most Modded is mostly just mapping, it has no real goal but to enhance the Game. Presently the Map has been the main focus, Rockstar had done a fantastic job with Vice City, but it seems that some areas have just not taken advantage of the space around them, So this mod has plans to expand the City and integrate these areas into the Original map. It is best to think of this mod as a late 80's to early 90's representation of a more modern expanded Vice City. Ashwin The New Boy has now taken over Scripting from me (I can only do basic spawn scripting & things like that) and he will achieve goals such as adding new features to the VC Engine, one great example is the Video found below with Automatic doors at a 24-Seven. You can expect more features as time goes on. Perhaps when Update 4 is nearing Completion/Release I will add a list here for the Goals/Features for the next few Updates to Version 3.1.

Update 4 Goals
~ 24-Seven Door Script (Minimum, 1 Store Complete) [Minimum Met]
~ Rebuilt Airport [About 90% Modeled - About 90% In Game]
~ Rebuilt Sunshine Autos (Minimum, Land for Sunshine but NO Building) [Land has been placed but no Showroom Built Yet]
~ Haiti Rebuilt (Minimum, Areas where I removed all Buildings and left blank in Update 3 is modeled)
~ Paths (Minimum, New Paths for Airport, Haiti, and Surrounds with new Roads)
~ Cross Town Tunnel (Minimum, Remove Tunnel and make temporary patches at each entrance)

Unfortunately it appears that Ashwin the new Boy is leaving modding due to personal reasons, so it looks like to main contribution he made to this mod is the 24-Seven Doors Script which I will implement in many more places around the city, also unfortunately his swimming mod he made never worked for me only for him so unless I looks like it wont be included anytime soon.

Ashwin The New Boy has done some scripting for me and it has allowed me to produce the following that is in the video, using this script as a base it now adds a cool effect that can be used for all types of buildings around the City.

Oh, nice mod! I only tried the 'B' version (the A crashed for me), and it seems so, well, nice! Outside of that it's obviously not finished (LODs, radar, empty water, flickering meshes), I think this mod has some great potential!

Just a few things I want to tell/ask you about:

- Renaming 'Sunshine Autos' to a Chevrolet dealer doesn't really fit in with the GTA brands, and is way overdone -- though another restyle could be great, and I love the restyle of Escobar smile.gif
- Is the path limit already cracked? If not, I might have a go at doing something about it - it'd be a shame to have incomplete paths smile.gif
- Will there be 'cool scripted features'... just a map without anything to do is really boring; randomized missions can cause a empty map to have tons of things to do tounge.gif
- ... this is more a request for something to be in the mod, but I've always dreamed of a overhead highway through parts of VC; the original city was a bit to small for that, but your expansions seem to make it exactly the right size... I'd love to see how it packs out.

Keep up the good work. smile.gif I wished I could model map sections, but never felt like learning it. sad.gif

The chevrolet autos was one of my mods so i just included that i might put it back to Sunshine when I model the building and add some car spawns, for the paths i just deleted some unused pedestrian paths that go round the inside of the dump and some that are at the stadium as i am working on new ones for there if you would wish to try crack the paths limit that would be great and i'm not quite sure about the overhead freeway yet, there is a mod for vice city with a scene like that its called Interstate 420c for me to do that i would have to redo more of vice city which would take some time as i am the only person working on this and i just ask for others help or if i can use others mods like with yojo2's radar as for the script i'm not proberly that good to make missions but when i get there i will give it a go and/or get someone to try add a few or just some features that i would like to have.
I'm not too sure about problems with the A series as i haven't tried it since i started working on the B which was before i released 1.1 A as i had uploaded 1.1A and 1.0A some time ago but when the moderators noticed it had an EXE in it some time later they took it offline and i forgot about it but never worry 1.1A is just kinda like the 1.0B only that it was made entirely of objects that were already in the game.

I just noticed that you are the person working on OpenVice great work with that I cant wait for a final release.

If anyone is interested in Modeling some or a building for new empty areas of my map just post here or send me a PM and if so I would like to see some of your work.

There are some certain types of buildings that I would like to have, and even some with interiors (e.g New Police Stations & Hospitals, maybe a new house for the player.)

I tried to install GTA MMv 2.0 but after installing it when I start gta-vc.exe the game crashes only. Please advice

GTA MM V3 BETA 2 - I am now preparing to release GTA Most Modded V3 Beta 2 and here are a few screen shots, currently there is only a couple but I will add some more as I compile the files for the release.

Also I think it was about time that I update this topic.

I have also modified the Deluxo, it will have to original lights on the rear and The Spoiler or Roof Will be an extra and then there will be one that has nothing and another extra will include both of them.

V3.1 Update (Part 1)

Here is the first pictures of what will feature in the Updates Part 1, I have been reworking that mess that is at the Stadium with several changes made, it is a completely new area that is totally different from what is included in the present release. As you look over the Above Pictures you will notice some of the changes that do not stand out but are there.

I still have to model around the back and side of the Stadium but that will be Next.

finally a mod that enhancing the map of a 3era game in its own game engine.

please do the same with gta3 too. i would like to see expanded roads in gta3 too!

Thanks to both of you, I would have started a mod like for GTA 3 but there is no limit adjuster for the game so I am presently unable to really add anything new to it map.

Really, I would have thought that if there was a 3 LA it would have been mentioned on here and there would be more bigger mods for 3.

Here is some more progress that has been completed, I am now going to model up some buildings, walls, etc. to fill in some of the areas and then I will use some buildings from around the map to fill the rest of it.

I too always wanted the roads to be expanded. Hell I wanted the whole city to be stretched in terms of width and then with re-texturing, liberty city will look cool. biggrin.gif

V3.1 Update (Part 1)

Also here is a small update, it is just a block of shops I have modeled to fill in that awkward area, I used shop textures from buildings around the city and then modeled the fronts so it is not just a flat face, you cant really notice it but they have got small amounts moved forwards and back. I have tried to make this in true R* style.

I have decided that this will be the final building for the First Update, so within the next few hours expect me to upload "MM V3.1 BETA [Update 1]" which contain the new map changes and also some of the old crap removed which has left exposed areas around the city.

Sadly I am not a mission scripter and do not have one on the team so there are no Missions as of yet, I would like to have some in the future but until then I guess it is just roaming.

Anyway on a Better note I have released GTA Most Modded V3.1 Beta [Update 1], which contains all the updates that I have posted here with the Tag in the post.

V3.1 Update (Part 2)

Well here is the first picture of Part 2 of my updates, as you can see I have modeled a bit of land to replace the messy chunks that were previously there, more updates still to come.

Thanks Prince I hope that someone does approach me, and again thanks for posting in the topic, as you can see it is pretty quite and without other people posting in it I tend to lack of posting updates, or I will wait a couple days and then Double post otherwise the topic will just die.

Below is the first picture of what will become a new Police Station, what you can see below is the underground car park for it, and the rest will be built around that one model, I have no plans to make an interior to the station at present but It is something I would consider to do in the future. (Car park based on the one at the Washington Marina)

Thanks, I do not really feel that it is in a stage that will show enough to make me both producing a video, possibly when I got more of the area done I will but until then it is just Images.


Attention:

Future Releases of GTA Police Stories will now incorporate this Map into the mod and now as this Map is rebuilt I will try and make it more suitable towards the Police Stories story line, presently Map updates will continue to be posted here until a decision is made.

V3.1 Update (Part 2)

Here is just a small mapping update, I have finished the VCPD/FDVC HQ and think it is fine but there is no doubt that I will update and change it in the future, I have also decided to add a small dock to the new coast line I am creating along the edge there, I have got the VCPD/FDVC model in game but am still yet to get the rest of the coast including the Dock in game yet for testing, I took a rough estimate of the waters height relative to the dock so I might have to make a few corrections.

man you are going great!

how about adding door for those interiors that you cant go inside? like ken's office, that bar in downtown etc..

also, i really suggest you to play vcs, so you can get thousands of ideas for map. (i would love to see vcs's little haiti in your mod. because its expanded by rockstar, and would fit great in your mod!)

Secondly, Yeah I have VCS, I did not think that it had too many ideas for the mod, if you could point some out that would be fine, if you have played the mod before (Latest Version) you would see that my Haiti areas all need a good fixing up as it is mostly a mess.

I might make some doors for the Interiors in a future version, for now it is just updating and cleaning the mess I have made with the map.

i would suggest you to use these ideas i took from vcs:

- a little wooden bridge between little haiti and military base/airport area
- little docks, just like you did, but much more of them. (vcs has like 25/30 of them because of the really short swimming function)
- placing bus stops (that never used in final version by rockstar) - model and the texture for bus stops is exist in the final game
- at least 20 new interiors. (you would only have to make like 10 different interiors, and use them like vcs' interior system)
- i would really love to see vcs' car colours on the original vc. because they are vivid, and sometimes oversaturated.. but they fit perfectly in vc.

Thanks for your suggestions, here is my breakdown of each thing, judging by the bridge comment I think you might not have played my mod before but that is Ok. (MooMapper Image Of West Island)

1. (Wooden Bridge) - That whole area has been redone since the first release of GTA Most Modded so there is no place for the bridge to begin with.

2. (Docks) - I will place more docks around the city but not as many as VCS has.

3. (Bus Stops) - I have used that model in an older version of the game but it was quite low quality, I could possibly remake it in the future but for now I will just add the Bus Stop Signs.

4. (Interiors) - Interiors are something that I would love to add in and since this mod is going to be the base map for the Police Stories Mod more interiors are a must.

5. (Vehicles) - At present when I include cars again I plan to use the Vehicles from Xbox Vice City, which is a mod of mine (Originally started by yojo2) I would like to use them and also my customized vehicles like the Romero Ute, VC Premier, Belmont, Regal, Regal Taxi, Civilian Hotrings, etc.

V3.1 Update (Part 2)

Here is the model of where the Petrol Station is located I am going to remodel the bridge that is located next to it after the bridge is complete I will release the Pack 2 Update.

Not at the moment, I have been busy with school and deciding on what I will do next year to further my studies but I will try to get the new bridge working then I will release pack 2 update.
