FROSTING ON THE CAKE! It was impossible! I think it literally took me like 10 tries to do it, probably the most I've ever had to try a mission in any GTA (maybe except for End of the Line, Deal/Revenge, Caligula's and 3 Leaf). That bloody APC and the chopper on the bridge and the friggin' bikers hiding in the alleys at the start. I think I rage quit a bit on the one!

My friend told me his 6-year-old cousin tried doing the first mission...
He got out of the car and pissed off a security guard, then got a wanted level and got shot.

The mission I hated was the one when you go with Phil Bell to deliver the H truck to the russians on Charge island....first time took me about 5 times to complete. Now that I have beaten GTA IV 10 times....its a breeze wink.gif

Lol, I don't understand how you can't pass Luck Of The Irish (btw, it's when you have to protect packie with the sniper). When the guy with the knife came, just shot him with the sniper, there is no need to go down.

The Snow Storm had me stumped for a few days, the swat guys just come from nowhere! plus i had horrendous pop in on the 360 at the time, so driving away always flipped the car somewhere.

The last mission for me took several tries. I think chasing Pegorino is harder than Dimitri though

The Snow Storm was probably the one that frustrated me most back in the day, and for some reason I still have trouble with Catch the Wave. I blame Phil because he killed himself about 3 times in a row. suicidal.gif

biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Yeah this one use to give me gip. I found the best way to do this mission is as soon as the cut scene has finished, reverse the truck back as far you can before Phil jumps out. Then Jump out run ahead of Phil and go gung ho, with the first few inside the warehouse. By time Phil has entered the warehouse he normally hides in front of the first pillar. Then if you carefully pick the rest off one by one, it's then quite simple.......

Agreed. Snow Storm takes a little planning and snooping around, but it does get difficult. As for Catch The Wave, Phil's a f*cking idiot. He believes that a propane tank is suitable for cover.

For me, the 3 most hated/hardest missions were Pegorinos Pride, The Snow Storm, and Flatline

Pegorinos pride is annoying because its a long ass mission. You have to drive (not take a taxi, drive) to the location. You then had to snipe all the enemies, who moved everywhere. Then, you had to save Pegorinos ass. And finally chase after the car and get back whatever you needed to get back (i forgot now) The first time i did it, i did it with ease, but when i chased after the cra i read wrong i shot the car until it was on fire, destroying whatever was in the car. The next few times i just kept dying because there was no cover after you ran out of the building you sniped from, making me lose half my health.

The snow storm was easy when you had to kill all the enemies and collect the coke. It was when the N.O.O.S.E came and stopped you from escaping. they all parked outside and i just couldn't get to a car. I looked it up and found out there was a god damn boat parked outside. I put on armor and health and just made a run for the boat. after that it was easy

Flatline was pissing me off because when you kill Anthony, it says "walk out calmly without suspicion" or something along those lines, but whenever i did, the guards started shooting you. I tried walking out different ways but no matter what the guards start shooting you. Its like the game tricks you. You also have to get out quickly or more cops will keep on coming in.

Other then that, i quite like gtas missions. There not too easy, nor not too hard, just fun. Not saying the other gta games aren't like that

Most of the missions were not that hard... It's just A) When you play the game for the first time it's hard figuring out WHAT you should be doing while people are trying to kill you, and B) GTA IV didn't have TBOGT's check point system yet, so you had to start the mission over from scratch if you failed. This was more frustrating than some of the missions themselves because you literally had to go all the way back to where the mission starts before you even attempt it again.

Also, some of the wonky physics work against you when they shouldn't.

Like others said, you will fail certain missions simply because you don't take a tight corner the right way causing the car to flip over letting your target escape, or just "glitching" the mission (you can't progress because the scripting was never designed for the player to get stuck in that way, etc).

For example, in the mission where you kidnap Gracie... She flipped the car onto a guard rail and that was it. I couldn't get the car free, so I had to start over...

Can't believe Stevie gave us a sh*t car.

Are yoiu kidding me? You got the car with best performance in the game used by slowfags in MP + the racers are slow and very easy to beat. I would have done it with a Faggio.

Handling was terrible.
Roman's cab can do better.

And that mission where we have to kill that Bucky Sligo guy, The police are all in the front of the house and there is only one way out, the front door...

or is there another way out?

How the f*ck does anyone have trouble with No.1? That's like the easiest mission in the game.

Undertaker and Ruff Rider were also easy as f*ck, how do people have problems with those?

I can't say that there was any difficult mission on GTA IV. A difficult part was when chased by cops with 5 stars on a mission but other than that, GTA IV is an easy game. A big game but easy!
Worst mission and most boring, when you have to take Michelle out. The third mission!

only one that was frustrating was trespass, but now it's pretty easy, and one of the most enjoyable in the game.

ruff rider was annoying too

i managed the mission "hostile negotiatation" by going around the back of the building then picking as many of as i could through the gaps in the boarded up windows.
the men inside take pot-shots but rarely get you.
i also use this point to blow up as many of the gas cannisters as i can see.

anyone got any sugggestions of how to get through "three leaf clover" without coppers shooting me to death"

This is exactly what I was going to say. I think that was the one I had to retry the most, I kept letting Bell die. But when I play through the game now, I can't even understand why it gave me so much trouble. Just wasn't used to the combat I guess.
