I took a look weapons of the game and the actual names of each weapon, and from that played San Andreas me I set in something. The creators of the game, when built it, they did something wrong. I took a look guns, and then click the icons. And I discovered non-weapons seen in icons. Las I say weapons are:

-9mm Pistol
-9mm Pistol Silenced
-Chromegun
-Micro SMG
-AK-47
-M4
-Sniper Rifle

The real weapons emerging in the icons are:

-9mm Pistol/Pistol Silenced = Glock 17
-Chromegun = Ithaca M37
-Micro SMG = Ingram MAC-10
-AK-47 = Avtomat Kalashnikova 47 without armrest.
-M4 = Colt Car 15
-Sniper Rifle = Heckler & Koch PSG-1 Combat Sniper

If you want to view images by Google Images.
Now that you know, If you are going to create weapons mods, do precisely that name. biggrin.gif

Weapons in game are 'Generic'.

Modding would make them more realistic, true.
Modding is not discussed in this part of the forum.

Clip capacity is not 'real' with the assault rifles.

Interchangability of ammuntion is not realistic in the game. You cannot use AK47 or M4 in the other rifle.
I presume the mini Machine Pistols are 9mm kurtz but could have also been 9mm Parabellum. (Which it actually must be since it is compatable with the SMG.)
You can use 9mm parabellum in both the 9mm pistol and silenced pistol but not in the game. (Noting, However the silenced 9mm has to be down-loaded to perform below the speed of sound to prevent the bang, which would not operate the slide reliably in the normal 9mm pistol. So the .45 cal would have been a better choice for the silenced pistol.)

theres more, but not now.

@lil weasel: He's talking about the weapon icons that appear in the hud on the top-right corner of your game screen.

The fact that the icons do not correctly represent the actual in-game weapons has been known since a long time.

Understood... Just taking the opportunity to venting on the ammo compatability issue.
