Hey dudes....what if the TLAD achievements are a bug and not supposed to be there?

I highly doubt these achievements are a mistake, these have been specifically ADDED to the PC version with this patch.

Thanks CC. Yet I cannot find that information on the patch index that you indicate. The only update there is patch 1.0.0.4, released in June. There's nothing else. Oh well... I guess they did something wrong. Btw this patch is really big, almost 100MB. All other patches have just 30MB or so... so this means it will fix a lot of stuff (I hope xD).

Anyway, I like the new security measures for online play. Unfortunately, those noob cheaters and hackers will find a new way to put their sh*tty trainers working, but at least now we can kick them right on the spot! biggrin.gif

"Hosts can now immediately Kick users from their games in Lobby and in game via Cell phone without having to rely on peer voting." devil.gif

As for TLAD achievements, I hope we get an official announcement pretty soon, and I hope that we can play the DLC before TBOGT is released on the PC. I don't want to wait for the entire package, aka EFLC. tounge2.gif

PS: Thanks Rockstar Toronto for the work, almost a year later and you guys didn't abandon us. And now to all those pessimists who kept saying "there won't be any more patches", I only have one thing to say: STFU! lol.gif

They messed up with the numeration.

The patch from June is 1.0.4.0 , and the newest one is 1.0.0.4, which is the one you see on the page.

As Neon25 says Rockstar f*cked up the version numbering on their website, this is the direct link to the patch :-

http://updates.rocks...UPDATE_1004.rar

That will download a rar and when you unrar it you will see the file is called GTA4_TU5.exe which is short for Title Update 5. I know it is a bit confusing and they really should edit their website.

@Neon25 and CC: Yeah I got it now, I downloaded that .rar you provided and I saw it was patch 5 indeed. Rockstar should fix the numbering... do they ever do everything right? I don't think so... tounge.gif

Too bad I have tons of work to do for university, no time to play and test the new patch. sad.gif I miss those good online times without cheaters or hackers. I guess I'll have to free some time up to play again. devil.gif

I don't think that the 1.0.0.4 thing is a mistake. They even named the exe that and just about everything else. There is probably a reason for it. It could be like one other user said about how they used a different numbering system for other regions and they decided to go with this. Or there could be some other reason. Just because it is the fifth patch doesn't mean that they did this by mistake.

anybody else having problems with the mouse not selecting items in the pause menu? clicking on stuff sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. it's very erratic. navigating with keys and using "enter" to select works fine though.

in game definitely feels smoother though. and great news about the DLC also. can't wait for that. icon14.gif

All patches have been numbered accordingly to their release. Patch number 1 is called 1.0.0.1, patch number 2 is called 1.0.0.2 and so on. So the 5th patch should be 1.0.0.5... unless they change to 1.0.1.0 or 1.1.0.0 if it's a major patch.

No the update exe is called "GTAIV_TU5.exe" as in GTAIV Title Update 5. They just put the wrong version down on the website and in the name of the rar file.

All the naysayers proven wrong. I said in another post that the update may bring games inline for DLC....but nobody listens to us optimists. Good to see the patch, makes me regret buying EFLC on 360 now, hah.

I was actually thinking about buying a 360 just for the DLC's, fable 2 and such, bust mostly it was because of GTA4 & DLC.

I guess that isn't needed anymore. tounge.gif

I bought one and I'm glad I did, because I'm sick of waiting plus I wanted Madden and NHL 10.

The patch seems good so far, hard to tell as my game played good before updating.

This patch is nothing big but it does fix quite a few things that were nagging me. Overall, I'm just happy that Rockstar haven't forgotten about the PC.

I have to say it is great to see such a positive feeling at the moment from most icon14.gif It is such a shame Rockstar Toronto couldn't be bothered to show their face to the party but who cares.

I may have to try MP again before the hackers figure out how to ruin the games. I do like the option for hosts to kick anyone without voting.

Ok I have updated the patch FAQ if anyone is the least bit interested tounge.gif

http://www.gtaforums...entry1058956386

also trawled through the PC forum and found all the previous patch topics and added links to them, you never know archaeologists in hundreds of years time might want to read them. I have to say I am loving GTA 4 with the new patch (still miss the envmod 5 though). Still cheesed off there is no damn moon though, I mean seriously Rockstar how much work is it to shove the moon texture in there dozingoff.gif

This patch surprised me - my performance feels much more stable now instead of my FPS going up and down all the time; very happy with R* at the moment.

Seems like the moon is lost... and damned wink.gif
Hopefully the next patch will add the final coat of polish before our biker gang friends run amok on the DLC!
Perhaps 1.0.0.5/1.0.0.6 will be the core engine which will run the DLC too? and R* Toronto will host the forum patch party!

My game just crashed while I clicked on player model to setup up my MP character.

I'm going to try a fresh install and see if it happens again.

that happened to me too... the only thing I hate about this patch is the fact that when your car shadow dissapears (at sunrise/sundown/night) you still have a shadow, so there are floating people shadows sticking out of the car doors...

other than that its a great patch, performance does seem to be better now.

Installed the patch on a clean install, after an initial crash on trying to run the benchmark, starting a new game proved positive, i've noticed a fair graphical improvement. Maxed out settings still produce a slight stutter for me, but nothing unplayable. R* really put the effort in with this patch and it shows.

Now to sit and wait for mods to be updated to 1.0.0.4 (wtfnamingscheme).

The car shadows aren't supposed to disappear at all. It's a bug, it's not present on the console versions.

The car shadows disappear at 20:00 and reappear at 06:00. It's annoying as hell.
