-= GTA IV Google Map Radar =-

Replacement texture map for ingame GPS-navigator
(need OpenIV / SparkIV to replace the original files)

= Description =
This mod replaces dark map from ingame GPS-navigator on a bright and detailed navigation map, which is identical to Google Maps. As a result we get in the game realistic GPS-navigator, which in real life enjoys a sufficiently large number of New Yorkers. Roads and routes ingame navigation system and the modified map are fully compatible. The new navigation system has no data about railroad tracks of the local subway - instead, added icons for subway stations, as it is on real navigational maps Google. Who does not know how to navigate in the local subway can use the city map in the main menu, which is retained in its present form.
For create a mod GTA IV Google Map Radar were used materials from GrandTheftAuto.IGN.com.

You ve made a lot of good work. Well done colgate.gif ! One request; sigh.gif Could you make a future edition whith darker colours? Espessially if you could replace the white color in the backround whith a darker one because now the radar is very bright and it is kind of tiring for the eyes.
Thanks

Thank you for your feedback. I did the map just for myself and decided that the work is not lost - to share it.

I found a problem. to 12:00 hr the map is so clear that gets to be transparent.

Add a screenshot of your game, please. The fact that I have changed the file " Grand Theft Auto IV\common\data\hud.dat " (open in the text editor), in particular line:
CODE
HUD_RADAR 0.089, 0.720 0.150, 0.197 HUD_COLOUR_BLACK 150

At:
CODE
HUD_RADAR 0.089, 0.720 0.150, 0.197 HUD_COLOUR_BLACK 255

My radar with these settings is not transparent and always on a dark background. But the problem of excessive brightness is the place to be, so in the next version this will be fixed and fixed some small streets (on the original map, instead of some streets - strange gray circles).

And how do we follow instructions, if the OpenIV cannot open wtd file format? neither does sparkiv, they can only open archives.
So this way the instructions are useless... i dont know the right way to do it.

Guys, other people have installed this, so the problem with yourself. OpenIV can open files wtd, check this:
In OpenIV interface find "File" menu, then click "Open Content" (This action will open the catalog GTAIV). Find there "hud.wtd" and edit it.

Great mod. I am using it and liking it very much, only sometimes it's a bit too bright.

Sorry to bring up a topic from last year, but I just have to say that this is a great mod! It was a bit bright when I first installed it, but then I followed the directions to make it opaque and now it's perfect. I am working on an addition to this mod that I think everyone will appreciate, I am just waiting on Sonik's approval.
