Okay, today I played 3 deathmatches all 20 mins (powerful weapons) earlier *autoaim* off. The first time I used the standard controls (shoot with R2) and out of 12 players I came in 5th with $4700 ...the top four had $4900, $5200, $6000, $6210. Then I decided that I should try playing with the classic controls for the second match, omg what a relief the two top dudes or dudettes that were owning me during the first match I was finally beating them at their own game with classic controls.

It seems to me that when you're using the classic controls the bullets spray out a little faster, because you can tap the R1 faster and you have better control. Has anybody else realized this? Or is is just me?

And I think there was a thread about this a while back...

I tried Standard and honestly hated having to use the lower shoulder buttons. I much prefer R1/L1 in a shooting game.

I'm quite use to R2/L2 but on my controller its only really R2 tounge.gif Triggers are a bit touch sensitive so i can touch it and its aiming (haven't got use to doing it again yet though)
When i play games with R1/L1 i don't tend to like it that much, haven't tried it on GTA.

I agree with Human Nature! I play with classic setup, it's so much easier to shoot in bursts and tap quick. After all it feels like the most people use the standard setup; you should try classic!

I have always used classic. And not going to stop now, I tried standard a couple of months ago and couldn't drive properly let alone shoot someone!

I'm actually pretty good at both, but it feels like classic is more easier..

Classic is def easier and much more familiar

Thank god they gave you that option cuz I almost
caught a heart attack when I first played lol

The only sucky part is I realized classic users are at a disadvantage.

I have a ps3 now and an xbox and I got gta to see the differences. R2 and L2 for me are very bad and the classic controls are better for shooting the only thing I had trouble with for a bit was figuring out how to reload but I found out how by switching weapons so thats a better control scheme to me to use the L1 and R1.

I use classic controls because thats how the controls have been since GTA 3 came out 8 years ago.
Though I know the standard is easier to aim while in car and you can drop grenades while running, which you cant do with the classic control setup.
