IVTracker

Texture search utility for GTA-IV

Current Version: 0.8

Download

IVTracker allows you to search for almost any text within the thousands of texture files that come with the game. It should also be useful to modders that want to quickly find a particular building to edit within the hundreds of models (when the model editing utility becomes available) by simply searching for a sign on the building itself. You can get an idea of how time consuming this would be if done manually by looking at the data file here

Thanks for the thumbs up guys. Happy to see there are no bug reports yet.

I forgot to mention in the readme file that only the four most significant words of a sign are recorded in the data file, normally the largest words, towards the top left of the image but there may be exceptions. If one search doesn't work you should try with some other text on the sign.

Lol how ironic:

Left screen: If I run it normally (and as admin):
Right screen: If I run in XP compatibility mode (and as admin):

Also, your program doesn't save the location of Spark, which is very annoying.
And SparkIV loads when I double click on files, but it doesn't go to the files... It just starts SparkIV. Is that normal?

@Dvt-medshot: On Windows 7 it looks always for me like on the second pic even with and without the compability modus.

If you copy the map files into IVTracker it should open files automaticly in SparkIV.

But it quite would be cool, if the IVTracker would know where the GTA IV directory is located so it can open it's files without copying them somewhere. icon14.gif

OK. Well Vista is a bit buggy compared to 7, so I understand.

Dvt-MedShot: The program was written using an old version of QT Designer (v3.3.2) so that might explain the abnormal window changes. I too would have liked the program to open the exact texture resource but because there was no command line option in SparkIV to do this I'm afraid we will have to do that part manually.

In the next update I'll add the found text to the search results and I agree with SLAYERMAGGOT that it should attempt to locate the GTAIV directory so I'll add that in a future version too.

Still working on IVSwap on and off but I think the fastest thing would be to add a multiple image swap feature to the SparkIV program itself.

/me is looking forward to seeing a release of Shadow Mapper colgate.gif
