Hi bammargera, what job is it? You have to have a good appearance (when I say good appearance I don't mean to be pretty, but you have to be well-dressed and smelling good), and you must sound confident, but not arrogant.

Warehouse work, nothing too hard I've done this sort of work before but I got my previous job through a family members recommendation and they already knew me, this is the first one I've had completely new to the place, but yeah the good appearance and confidence sound good, although it'll be fake confidence due to my nervousness tounge.gif , any other tips anyone?

I don't speak from experience, but I think you should try to get to know your boss/employer well. "Stand out from the crowd". Treat him as a friend, joke around a bit.

Unless it's only a temporary job. f*ck 'em.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. As someone who has worked in various levels of management, there's nothing more irritating than when someone doesn't know what to do, doesn't ask, then f*cks something up. Your boss will appreciate it.

If GTAF were it's own country, what would it look like, how would you travel, what is the crime like, how large is the military and how do we compare against other forum nations?

Not if you make an effort to befriend them too. Which any worker should do. Get some allies who will stick up for you.

I have a question for the old school dudes.
Why most people keep on posting with colors? The whole post just in one color.

Has anyone an idea why?

Cause they feel like it. When we removed post wrappers, some kept it up. It's sodding annoying if you use a non-standard skin. Someone made a Firefox plugin to automatically add it if I recall correctly.

Because they want to post in one colour. There used to be a postwrapper function which allowed people to post automatically in a colour and with personalised messages as they desired. But now all colours and end-notes are written by hand or using a Greasemonkey script made by Gangsta Killa I believe.

Edmachine made it, the topic is floating around Web Design/Programming somewhere, not too hard to find since the section's impossibly inactive.

Dress appropriatly.
Show up on time, not too early.
Keep your mouth shut until you get the feel of the place and people you work with.
NO JOKES or humor until you're sure of who you're working with. You don't want to piss anybody off too early.
Be helpful, but don't assert yourself too soon.
If someone is showing/teaching you something you feel you already know listen any way. You may learn a different method.
Be alert for practical jokes or hazing. How you react may set the tone for your stay there.
Don't talk politics, wages, or religion, (sports teams) at least until you KNOW the people you deal with.
Language (ethnic, crude, or humorous) is dangerous until you KNOW the people in your environment.
Ask for help when you need it. Don't be bothersome.
Be sure you know when and for how long your breaks are. When is lunch and for how long where. Some places allow eating in the work area some don't. Sometimes you may not be allowed to leave the work campus.
Where will you be allowed to store clothes and food.
Who do you contact if you're going to be late or can't get to work.
Who do you contact or go to if you are injured or sick.
When is payday, and how will you recieve your pay.
DON'T sit down until breaks, or you KNOW where and when it is allowed. (That's how I spot would be a deadhead.)
DON'T use that mobile phone or have visitors (friends) dropping in to talk during working hours.

Those are the most important things I've found as a worker and as a supervisor/trainer.

I think it has to do with the "Christ" and "Cross" connection. X is a cross. Similar to how Motorcross becomes MotoX, just with another level of separation.

Why do people think that an inverted cross is sacrilegious is more the question there.

Depends on which of the 'Christian' cults it is.
also referemce:

in a monotheist society it could be any worship of an idol or device rather than The God figure itself is a heresy

And that's not why he was re-banned, because he was let back on the GritEngine account. Now for the real answer to come...

Because he was a f*cking c*nt who should never have been let back once, let alone twice. He caused trouble in gaming chat and from what Ryan told and showed me he was starting bullsh*t in the V section as well.

Since he first registered he did well to define the concept of "f*cking loon." Don't know why he was banned the first time (probably general fa**otry as-per-usual) but the second time Xcomm banned him on the spot after some rants about how dead soldiers deserved their fate since they were bloodthirsty monsters and thus deemed (by him) worthless and deserving of death. Then, if that wasn't enough, he defended that opinion after multiple members who had friends and family they lost to war took serious offense to the bullsh*t he was spewing.

I honestly don't know how people like that live day to day, but it must be a sight to behold.

This post and a string of bitchy PMs between himself and staff got himself thrown out on his arse. He's a multiple PBM. Over his numerous accounts he's got a warn log as long as my arm. He never learned. He's a nutjob. He won't be back.
