And uh at the question you ask, do you mean where would you land if you walked out in front of a moving bus? I mean it kind of sounded like where would you land if you were on a bus..which wouldn't really make much sense.
I'd say you'd probably end up both ends, I mean you might hit the bus, and be carried away by it until it stops but I'm sure there would be some sort of blood/body pieces trail from where you hit it, which would mean it would be behind the bus
Nope, the 'one that doesn't make sense' was the right question, didn't notice how badly I worded it till now. If you got onto a bus and was stood at the front, and then it started moving and got upto a good speed, then you jump up in the air, where would you land? Same spot or further towards the back?
I'm not 100% sure but I believe you would end up in the back of the bus, but on the floor like the image below.Correction
If the bus is going at constant speed then you would not fly anywhere, you would jump up then land exactly where you were. This is because even though the bus is traveling at full speed, so are you
However if the bus was accelerating and you jumped then you would move backwards, imagine the situation, if the bus is traveling at 10mph when you jump then because it is accelerating when you land it is moving at 12mph, you have been traveling at 10mph while you were in the air where as the bus has been traveling at an average speed of 11mph, so while you were in the air the bus traveled an average 1mph faster than you, so inside the bus the affect on you would be you would jump backwards at 1mph in relation to the bus
The same occurs if the bus is slowing down, if you jumped and it was traveling at 12mph then when you landed it was traveling at 10mph, you have been traveling on average faster than the bus so the affect of you inside the bus would be that you move forward.
