This is one game I will be DEFINITELY buying. The intro of the trailer looks almost life-like up until the dust. That never seems to look realistic. Either way, it looks fantastic. I just took a look on the Wikipedia page. It says that the console versions will be out in September 8, 10 and 11. But why will it be out for PC only in December? That I don't like. But to see Ken Block and Travis Pastrana is going to be awesome. I wonder if they will add a tribute of some sorts for McRae. Would be cool to see and would only be good.

I'm pretty sure they are including a tribute to colin.
I tried the demo yesterday and fell in love. The first Dirt was good.
I wish the PC version was out sooner mad.gif

Ninja edit:

Anyone see Ken Block on Top Gear? That was pure awesome.

@Ptikobj: Mind telling me where did you download the demo? I can't find it on the dirt2game.com site.

I'm kinda dissapointed with this, downloaded the demo and within 2 minutes the demo was off. Perhaps i didn't give it enough time like but just doesn't feel right. I hated the menus, just to much going on with all those pictures and everything.

I thought they were supposed to be adding a weighty fell to the cars, they still seem to floaty.

I'll have to give it another go though.

I played the demo the other day and loved it. Even though it is out next week I went out yesterday and rented the first Dirt game as I hadnt played it yet and I like that one too. Will definately be getting Dirt 2 next week.

I'm addicted to the Morocco race.

My best time so far is 03:09'42 on Savage with a manual gearbox.

Damn stop teasing me over the demo! tounge.gif It's killing me that i can't play the demo yet. sad.gif

I can just say, i want this game bad. Really really badly.

Just i don't know why Ken Block is mentioned virtually everywhere. Could of added a bit of variety. lol.gif
If it ends up anything like Grid i will be exstatic!

Got this game yesterday, and I have to say that I'm impressed. I didn't really get into the first game, but this one is very fun. One thing that does annoy me is the Baja races. The cars seem to spin out at the slightest touch, makes them pretty poor in comparison to the other modes for me.

I'm finally, f*cking finally buying a 360 on monday. I was thinking of buying the original dirt. So anyway, i'm just meaning to ask wether it's any good/worth getting? Because i used to be so hyped over it, but never got to play it.

Edit: kind of off topic there, sorry about that haha.

Can anyone who has played the game tell me how the cars handle? Do they handle like they do in GRID, but on gravel? I just watched gametrailers.com review of DiRT 2. Looks very promising.

Off-topic: How do I get my co-driver on DiRT?

yea this game is fantastic, if u love car games this is a must buy, as for handling, it is easy to get the hang of but you have to judge when to brake and accelerate to drift corners, also graphics are amazing=), the best looking cars in a game ive ever seen.

WHAT?! It's already released? sh*t, but I just got GRID. cry.gif

But I'll be sure to get this game though, especially because of all the previous replys above me, and GRID was f*cking awesome and quite a challenge when you turn all the assists off, use manual gearbox, and put the difficulty to the highest level(extreme or something like that?). It took me quite awhile to achieve my goal with this kind of setting. It was also very stable in performance, unlike almost all the recent games I played. I assume this game will be the same. smile.gif

~edit; oh f*ck, it says the pc version is gonna be released in dec.

Yes, and the reason is they wanted to support Direct X 11 and this game might be the first game to do so.

Firstly, sorry about the extra thread, don't know why I missed it...

Its a great game, I'm loving it, but man I wish they would make just a pure rally game again. I think its a shame that the CMR franchise has started to pander to the american audience. Everything seems dumbed down, and so many sh*tty Baja and truck races *groan*. I wish there were like 8 countries, with 8 stages each over 5 mins+ per stage, with repairs put back in. Car setups!!??? What are they doing! sad.gif Despite all that, its a great game otherwise, best looking car game to date.

Gah, I just played the demo. I can't afford more games at the moment. It's awesome, though. Really fun races, and as opposed to some other people in this thread, I love the way they did the menus. I don't see how you could prefer a dull screen with regular text. The game feels polished, and looks fantastic, although I did encounter some stuttering during a replay.

You are right it is very polished with that menu system especially compared to Shift's dull system, the game is great but I also feel its catering to much to casual gamers who want variety. Variety is good but too much dilutes things, it should really stay more focused on actual rallying, still it is fun.

It took me a while to get used to the menus and navigate around them but i like how they've done it now.

They added other parts to the game as that's what Colin did towards the end of his career.

Just picked this up and started playing a few hours ago, all I can say it what a fantastic game! Graphics are stunning, and the physics are far from realistic but they're perfect for a game. I love it to bits.
