Hai guyz biggrin.gif !

I spent the week-end with my older brother. Nice story, huh? I spent all week-end at his place, playing Gta IV and a few other games on the 360 and whenever we were playing, he played some music on his PC and it was always french rap. So, an idea sprang in my mind. I want to know what you members like as music. I want to know what music you like but the music you mention here must be local music. If you live in a certain place, that song/music must be sang in the same language (that's if there is any singing in the song). I want to know what's "hot" right now in your country/place/state/province/whatever.

Don't be shy, be proud of what music you listen to. So, please post Youtube linksor just say what the artist and the title of the song is! I'm like Lazlow, walking the forums of Gta, wanting to know what music you listen to.

So, your comment must be formatted like this.
Location:
Language:
Artist:
Song Title:
Youtube Video (Optional):
Sidenote on video (Optional):

I'll do an example.

Location: Québec, Canada.
Language: French.
Artist: Sir Pathétik.
Song Title: T'aime un bad boy.

Sidenote on video: I know they seem like posers/wanna-be gansters but don't worry about the video. tounge2.gif

I haven't searched for any topic like this but i've spent some time in here and I haven't seen any topics like this one. The only one I came close to was "rate the song above you" which people just post classic rock and any annoying hip-hop music which can be heard everywhere. I want to know what makes you dance. I want to know what's hot right now. I want to know what you like.

Please, no judging on the music. Only post a music title or/and a Youtube video and get out. lol.gif

**EDIT** Thanks Vanilla Shake. Not sure if Billy Joel is really "hot" right now, but it's a classic. icon14.gif

I'm not Japanese, but I thought it would be good to have something foreign in here. I could post some hip hop from Aus later, if I feel like contributing to the current zeitgeist.

Wait...isn't the purpose of this thread to post music from your area? local bands and stuff. Not sh*t thats plastered all over MTV & NME magazine.

Heres some local ska bands, check them out, they're brilliant.
The John Player specials, seen these guys last week at a local bar, awesome.
Rasta4eyes Seen these at the same gig as JPS, they share the same trombone player. Again, good to skank to.
Harijan, another brilliant band.

Heres some Punk bands.
Flat back four. Local band from St Helens, they're sh*t hot.
The C.R.U.X these guys are sound, I got a free CD and beer off them lol.

My reply didn't post, so here it's cut and paste;
I tried that local SCENE thing, and everyone laughed it off, which says to me that they don't have much respect for small time local musicians.... only famous ones signed to major labels must be good. Most local talant is cover material bands however, but we got POWERMAD!!
David Lynch even used the band in Wild At Heart with Nick Gage
There is a YT video, but it depends on the film version or Warners promo clip, still, I think the past scene was much better then it is today, even with the support lack-luster

Actually, the point was to post local music but people seem to think putting some foreign music just for the fun of it will actually support this topic. I don't mind the NYC hip-hop but please, I need more stuff.

Yeah, Prince, he was local. The Trashman, as I recall, also local.
The band Crow? Great one that gets overlooked.
Check out their EVIL WOMAN song.
Here's POWERMAD vid;

The video is pretty good, to be honest!

In the UK, alot of the 'local' music scene mainly consists of the whole Bassline scene, which went commercial a couple of years back. I know alot of you knock it down as 'chav sh*t', but back in the day, the stuff used to be really decent, mixing some of the hottest songs around with a bassline tune.

Now it's all this 4x4 sh*t, and all the commercial stuff being released. Since it went commercial, alot of people have gone off it.

The only other 'main' music scene that is mainly England is the whole garage scene, with artists such as Dizzee, Chipmunk & Wiley. There are alot of decent indie bands around aswell.

For me, apart from the bassline stuff, I tend to stick to American Hip-Hop and Underground stuff, such as Atmospehere & Cunninglynguists.
