Nice job!
There is already a Crown Vic model like that existing, but this one looks kinda better^^
I look foward to the release- the first pics make a very proper impression.

The first one is a 1988 by Blaer. 6 years ago i released a 1986 LTD crown vic, now I think its crap. Then SPC made a 1985, much better than my 86.

Now I am dong a 1987! It comes with EFI 5.0!

Itr seems like I lost my heart with this car, but a few tweaks and this seems to be back on the saddle again. Resized the wheels and reshaped the front end a bit. Looking at the engine and I asked my self that I am going piss my pants while texturing it biggrin.gif

The movie striking distance want me to finish this car.

@schaefft, thanks smile.gif

@deathproofdodgefan love to do one, but I am not sure i have time for that (depending how much work it needs to convert it to a wagon)

@Illousion thanks, About the tires, of course it comes with white wall, but I havent started texture the tires (if I can try to use GTA4 normal maps).

I double check the scales and proportion. Found a pretty decent profile shot and blueprint and my car is pretty close...

then I found the rear is not slanted far enough. The hood is a tad shorter, the rear door is a little too long and the door handle is too large biggrin.gif

readjusting the rear door is a bit messy but manageable.

Go, go, go man. I love large 70s/80s American sedans for some reason, no idea why.

Because when the rest of the worlds cars turned boring, these cars kept their character and continued being american? icon14.gif

Oh and bigfoot, my parents drive an '88 LTD Crown Victoria, if something is the same on those as it is on the '87s I could get reference pictures if you need anything. smile.gif

@Costar I could squeeze a cop car version, but not a wagon.

@Illousion Thanks for the offer, right now I think I have enough reference for time being.

@1TUFSS right on biggrin.gif V-8 large sedans They are my guilty pleasure.

Pretty much, yeah. The excess is a part of it too (lounge sized rear seats, big block motors? Hell yeah).

Still looking great, thatll be another great addition to GTA. biggrin.gif

I finally got your DTS ingame and its looking just awesome, extremly well made car, wish everyone would spend that much time into their models. The only thing thats caught my eye is the large rim normalmap, its kinda out of proportion compared to the other stuff. Id scale it down myself if I could. 512x512 should be the max. size, if not 256x256. smile.gif

Any plans to update the Caprice and give it the IV-features of the DTS?

I tried looking for pix of this type of vehicle but there are some discrepancies between those & your model, so not sure of the exact car then but it loox nice!
I just see a few things

1. the indicators and park lights look like their color or tone is swapped, that they should look more like this
user posted image
where the whole lower row is darker amber, the other big one is lighter.

2. cant see the distinction of multiple bulbs in the lower row of indicators
From the pix I've seen it loox like the whole lower row is the park/indicator combined and the big (more yellow) one is just a reflector

3. you planning to put the ornament on like in the pic above ?

4. I'm sure you will have the fuel filler door on later as well rearview mirror tounge.gif

5. I've seen some of these cars w/ & w/out the black strip on the front bumper like in that pic above, infact I've seen a few what appears to be civilian cars that has those black impact bumpers & black strip on the rear bumper also.
I was thinking maybe you could use the black stripping and rear impact bumpers only on the police version as another distinguishing feature biggrin.gif

You're right, they look dull. I lighten the turn indicator before, I'll deal with hem later. Ican put the black bumper guard as extra and so is the fancy vynil roofing.
