8 FPS increase! Brilliant - but there's a cache; the classic Z-fighting is back to haunt, in a smaller but still noticable form. Waaah. bored.gif

This game cracks me the hell up with all of its quarks. Mine issue with the rain, won't go away. I have half a mind to reinstall my whole OS fresh and just install this game to see how it acts then. Mind you this OS install isn't that old maybe 3 months most and for the most part clean IMO.

I have XP 32bit. But im sure someone else has this and still have the rain problem. This driver has caused many problems for my other games to. On oblivion i tried to start a new game and just kept getting VPU error as on 9.7.

Hate to break it to ya tom, but 38 average in the benchmark is more like 28-30 average in game wink.gif

Nevertheless still very playable.

Also view distance @ 100 is quite pointless, turn that down to 30 or so and with almost no visual difference your FPS should go up considerably.

I assume you mean uninstall old driver?

If so than it's up to you. Some people install new drivers over old drivers without uninstalling and have no issues. Others uninstall old drivers before installing updated drivers with no issues. ATI has said both methods are supported and you can go either way.

hey man, I've getting my copy from Direct2Drive of Oblivion tonight or tomorrow (didn't back it up last time) and when I finish downloading it and installing it, I'll let you know how it goes for me (hd3850).

I have no rain problems in gta iv and all my games run better than ever, but I'll let you know if there is a problem with oblivion on my end.
