its ok...i already able too add newerveh.ide...
and i take 10 vehicles from the 38 vehicles and put to newerveh.ide...
but after add 11th vehicles i start to crash...
never tried create another ide...
btw do i need to put all the handling,carcols,and vehicle ide in alphabetic order???
cos i jus put it randomly and it work...

Hey Guys,
I used adii's files but It crashes sad.gif
Ist crashes when the loading screen, which is after you click on Play or start (that button on the down left), finishes.
Now I undo everything and... It crashes... sad.gif
I've got Patch 1.0.4.0 on Windows 7 x64

Can anyone halp me?
And sorry for my bad english, I'm german wink.gif

sorry man..but i ask to backup first...if u dont have backup im cant do much...mebi u can get the ori vehicle.img,images.txt,etc that u hv replace...

Well can anybody tell me reasons why some users tend to reach their added cars up to 100 while others lower than 20 or 30's. I've managed to add 38 cars in IV while 15 in EFLC. I can't even add vehicles in TBOGT and TLAD, those games keep on crashing. Does the system specs has something to do with this or what?

Been struggling with this for like 5 hours now.

First I went through the full tutorial, game started crashing at loading screens, so I changed a ton of things around. Finally realized there was a separate thing for EFLC, so I did that, and finally got past the title screen. However, it seemed when I got into a car and started driving (not an added car), the game crashed with an "Unrecoverable fault". I also tried to spawn one of the added cars and it said "spawned" but the trainer froze and it never did spawn.

So I pretty much gave up, deleted everything I modified and verified the cache through steam. Removed the trainer out of the folder (to see if it would fix the error), made sure everything I modified was now replaced and started the game.

Still getting the "Unrecoverable fault" error after a minute or so of gameplay though. :\

Could there be something that's in the registry now that's doing it? I am seriously lost. Haven't reinstalled yet, but considering it's through Steam, I want to leave that as a last resort.

I added new car in and got it working today.

But here is a little problem. Since in newveh.ide, I followed the instruction to use a name of an existing car to create animation effect, such as fire effect. This I used INFERNUS on my Lamborghini add on car.

When I spawn in game by typing "spawn gallardo" in my open consol, it spawns fine and I can drive it great. But its name is Infernus. I type "spawn infernus" and I get regular infernus. So I did not replace infernus. Rather, the Lamborghini Gallardo is indeed a separate add on vehicle, but I want to give it a custom name. How do I do this.

Hi everyone,

I'd like to ask for a hint.

I followed the guide in the first post very precisely, got my new vehicles working ingame (I added 6 new motorcycles), the game loads correctly.

But as soon I reach some places in Liberty City, the game crashes to the desktop. Surprisingly it happens at the same places (for example, when I try to cross the bridge)

Could anyone give me a hint on how to gget rid of this error?

I have a question, how can I do that when I enter the car I added it will write something I choose in the lower right side of the screen like any normal car.
For example: if I enter huntley it will write down below "HUNTLEY SPORTS".
EDIT: Also how can I add engine and horn sound to the vehicle I added? I tested it and its working great but sadly there is no engine sound.
EDIT 2: I figured out the sound thing, just put in the newveh.ide the name of the car you want the "TEST" to be sound like.
For example: x, x, car, X, X, ...
x, x, car, X, INFERNUS, ...

P.S. I found a different way to add vehicles to the game, without making new files or using cargrp.dat. With the mod TrafficLoad.

I put the X.wtd and the X.wtf in vehicles.img, put X ... in handling.dat same as vehicles.ide.
Then I go the TrafficLoad.ini and input the car I want to be loaded in the game itself.

How do you get your vehicle name to be custom. For example, when I enter my added Lamborghini Gallardo, I want itto say 2005 Gallardo at the bottom right side of the screen.

Hi, i wanted to add new car, so i've do like author said and i get crash with no error while loading game
i trace back all changes, try to play (it launches good) and start do it one by one
So i get error at step one - i created new img file, added *.wft and *.wtd files in it, put it into ...\steamapps\common\Grand Theft Auto IV\GTAIV\pc\models\cdimages folder
and modified file images.txt -> added new row so the end of file is like this

I added only 22 cars for patch 1.0.4.

any suggestions?

Right now I have added 22 cars, but I would like to create another 22, is it possible?


with 1 pack of 22 aggregate runs smoothly, but the 2nd pack of 22 breaks the game

I have on simple question, I have read around 5 pages into the topic and couldn't find a search topic button, but..

Would it be possible to make these cars inaccessible by civilians? I mean, when I spawn one of the vehicles I suddenly see many of the newly added cars on the street, however that's very unrealistic since the vehicles I added are just for fun, movie cars. I would like to see only the vanilla cars/replaced cars being driven, not the newly added cars. Thanks in advance.

I really don't want to have to down-patch my EFLC to decrypt my files. Is there a version of the script that is compatible with 1.1.2.0?

vehicles.ide open and change the following parameters: Frq & MAXNUM.

e.g.

Hello,

I have a little problem!

Here is the thing, I wanna add cars in groups into img archives.

So I have 7 BMW's, and created an bmw.img archive with OpenIV. Then added all 14 files from this 7 cars.

After this, I altered the
default.dat - HANDLING common:/data/handling1.dat
gta.dat - IDE common:/data/veh1.ide
images.txt - platformimg:/models/cdimages/bmw 1

Then I created veh1.ide and put in data needed, created handling1.dat and put in data needed, and altered carcols.dat and added lines that are needed.

When creating all this, I took care of names I used.

I start game, everything normal until end of loading, that is before entering 3D world. What could be wrong?

Also, how many cars can be added this way? I have 1.0.7.0 version of the game, is limit still 28?

I don't know if anyone tried this earlier. But I manage to do it in different way!

I took original vehicles.ide file, opened it with SparkIV and extracted all car models from it.
Then together with those extracted ones, I added one of mine car models, and with OpenIV I created new vehicles.ide file, and replace original one withing GTA IV game.

After this, I just added columns describing my new car model in carcols.dat, handling.dat and vehicles.ide.

Game runs normal with all this done!?! ...now my question is, why did noone do this till now? Or am I missing something?

Only thing that I need to change in vehicles.ide is 5th word describing car engine/name, since I still didn't find file where I can add my own car models and assign them game sounds.

Edit: ...sadly I'm getting error when I add more then one car... sad.gif

Edit2: ...OK, I've did it, I managed to put more then 24 additional cars, and the game works like a charm.
It seems that game can handle only 24 additional img files, and I think, although didn't test this yet, that in one img file max number of vehicles can be as in original vehicles.img file (that is 137, however I did put one more model in original file, and game was sometimes having strange stuttering).

Edit3: ...running with 26 additional vehicles in 6 img files with no problem, and all minigames working just fine smile.gif

Edit4: ...max added cars that I got in is 38 ! So this is max for 1.0.7.0 I think!

Hi. I have gta iv with 1.0.7.0 patch. 1 year ago I add 7 cars in my game and it worked properly. but now I can't add more than 2 cars. If I do the game will crash and these 2 cars not appear in game by default or traffic load and crash the game with car shop mod V1.5 .
PLEASE GUYS SOMEBODY HELPPPPP...

I found a bug. Trying to add map mods line by line will crash the game. Without added cars the map mods work.

Not sure if it's been mentioned in the 30odd pages of this thread, but cars can be added exactly like in EFLC like they are in GTA IV, as long as it's done outside of the TBoGT and TLaD folders, so the normal way works, i'm just not sure on the car amount, but if it's like GTA IV patch 1.0.7.0 it'd be around 28 cars I believe

can i create a new vehOff.csv file (ex: newvehOff.csv in the default.dat file) like the "newhandling.dat" ?

because i added the Bugatti Type 35C 1925 , but there are two vehOff.csv lines to modify in the settings..

any ideas ?

I've 1.0.3.0 and 23 cars added, i've done many tests and figured out that if i delete a line in original vehicle.ide (for example a tug boat) i can add one more car in my newveh.ide.
The limit is not in the img or in the handling, but in the exe that has vehicle.ide limit. Can someone take a look to confirm?
