Didn't find this topic so i made it: name your actors/tresses and state why they're so great.

And don't name hot chicks because they're hot, that's idiotic when internet can make you bored of sex way better than any skin scene from transformers

I'm starting with groucho marx... by no means the best of actors, but he's able to give the best of performance, he wrote himself as well, producing some the smartest quotes ever, that's i've seen every marx bros film, and steal his jokes when i'm running slow

I've been growing fond of Daniel Day-Lewis as of late, he's definitely one of the best actors I've seen. My other favorites would have to be Steve McQueen (mandatory), Alec Guinness, John Goodman, John Turturro and Ed Norton to name a few.

I think Johnny Depp is probably my favourite actor ever. He's top notch in everything he does. But I also like other actors such as Jack Nicholson, Jimmy Stewart, Robert De Niro, Brad Pitt and Paul Newman. Some other actors that I've only really noticed in the last few years which have caught my eye are Joseph Gordon Levitt, Mark Strong and Robert Downey.

As for actresses I like Sigourney Weaver (I mean, who doesn't?!), Laura Linney, Jodie Foster, Charlize Theron and Diane Keaton. Samantha Morton is another actress who has caught my eye recently.

Anthony Hopkins, Geoffrey Rush, Ian McKellen, Al Pacino, Emma Thompson, to name a few.

Edit: Oh, how could I forget Rowan Atkinson in The Black Adder!

Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman and James Franco. There are quite a few but those are the ones I can remember off the top of my head.

Bruce Willis-Watch Die Hard. You will understand.

Cote de Pablo-Those of you who know me will think that I have a certain bias towards her, but I do think she's an alright actress, a good looker and she can sing like an angel. Plus learning English after moving from a foreign country and speaking it well raises my respect of anyone.

Jason Statham-He's a believable crook. Plus, go on ask men .com and search up "ten things you didn't know Jason sTATHAM KICKS ASS AT" (without the damn caps!)

Harrison Ford-Watch The Fugitive, the original Star Wars trilogy and Indiana Jones. You will understand.

Kiefer Sutherland-Thought he was awesome after watching a series of 24, knew he was awesome after watching "Phone Booth".

Oh, and Jim Carrey.

Kurt Russell - My all time fave actor.
Christian Bale
Sean Bean
Robert DiNiro
William H Macy
Keanu Reeves - He gets a bad wrap but I really like his style. He's a better actor than he gets credit for.
Tom Cruise
Song Kang-Ho - My favourite Korean actor, possibly tied with Choi Min-Sik but I've seen more of Song's films.
Takeshi Kitano - I love how he never gives his characters many lines. His face tells you everything you need to know.
Tony Leung
Ewan McGregor
Brad Pitt - Whenever he plays a psycho, he's so good he makes me uncomfortable just watching.

Yeah, and I'm sure he also says don't double post.

Jack Nicholson is by far my favourite actor, simply because he's f*cking awesome.

Edward Norton - For his many roles mainly that of Fight Club. Also enjpyed him in Red Dragon, and his other films.

Robert De Niro - While of late, he may have gotten a little sloppy with lame comedys you still can't deny he's a cinema legend starring in such memorable and powerful filsm as The Godfather Part 2, Taxi Driver, Heat, Once Upon a Time in America, Goodfellas and Casino.

Christian Bale - For a blistering performance in American Psycho. And obviously Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. Also Empire of the Sun get's a special mention. Also due to the substanial weight he loss for his role in the Machinist now that is devotion. Even if the guy does tend to fly off the handle sometimes.

Marlon Brando - Excellent in The Godfather as Don Vito Coreleone, and also pulls off a great role in Apocalypse Now, in which he did the opposite of what he was supposed to do for it. Also sending that Red Indian woman up to collect his oscar was really sticking it to the man.

Well, Gary Oldman is a legend. I got proof.

Christopher Walken is probably one of my favourite actors. From the same film...

Others I love:

Sean Penn
Phillip Seymour Hoffman
Johnny Depp (although some of the sh*t is pumping out lately is questionable)
Dustin Hoffman

I'd have to go with Jim Carrey or Adam Sandler. I've always had a fetish for comedy movies. biggrin.gif

Theres too many to pick from to be honest and loads have already been mentioned... 3 i like:

Will Smith - Fresh prince of bel air is f*cking hilarious. Watch it if you havnt already. I was actually watching Men in Black 2 the other day, first time i'v watched anything with him in for a while.

Bruce Willis - the Die Hard films <3

Adam Sandler - Happy Gilmore is one of my fave movies.

A few more to add

Jon Voight - For his roles in Midnight Cowboy, Delieverance and even Heat alone. Great acting all around, if nobody here has seen Midnight Cowboy do so now, as it's one of the best films made.

Daniel Day-Lewis - I find it hard to fault with all of his movies I've seen so far, and in each he pulls off a damn explosive performance. Especially in There Will Be Blood. If you look at his acting in that film, you can noticed the subtle yet very well done parts of his acting, especially when he's drunk or when he's angry.

Clint Eastwood - While reffered to as a "One trick horse" by some you still can't deny the guy is a cinematic legend. Playing such Iconic characters as Harry Callahan, The man with no name and his many over roles spaced across his large plethora of films, such as Hearbreak Ridge, Every which way but loose, Gran Torino, Ungforgiven and more. Also the man has lately directed/written some of his films such as Million Dollar Baby, Flags of our fathers and the previously mentioned Gran Torino.

Clint Eastwood - First saw him in Unforgiven and have been a big fan of his ever since.

Russell Crowe - Rage problems aside he's a fantasic actor, Galdiator is one of my all time favourite movies, not to mention A Beautiful Mind and Body of Lies.

Tom Hanks - I don't think there is one standout performance of his, they are all great.

Brad Pitt has really been standing out to me in his latest performances. I always thought he was a decent actor, but he showed incredible talent as Benjamin Button and Jesse James. There's a few sh*tty comedies in his filmography (Mr. & Mrs. Smith), but you can really tell when he puts effort into a role.

Johnny Depp, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Downey Jr., Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington continue to impress.

Off the top of my head:
  • Robert Downey Jr.
  • Edward Norton
  • Brad Pitt
  • Samuel Jackson
  • Johnny Depp
  • Kiera Knightley
  • Mickey Rourke
  • Bruce Cambell
Those are actors I can say I honestly enjoy 99% of the films they're in.
