Awesome work on the cars Ivan, but you could reduce the amount of the specular reflection. (ReflectionSide)

Can someone help me please ? I'm using Dpeasant's settings that are in his signature. But its really really bright in interiors, and on some white surfaces in the game. What settings should I adjust ?

Try turning off ForceMinMax.

Do you have modded shaders?

I've been running 24/7 website development in the last week, no time for GTA IV sad.gif But!

This was very good. Needs more brightness though. The trees, shadows and overall tone is very realistic though. Definitely needs more environment lighting though. smile.gif

You are headed in the right direction here:

user posted image

The shine on the ride in this shot is getting close to the gloss that the thread seems to looking for at the moment.

user posted image

As trending happens with ENB, I can see the current trend is for high-gloss and reflectivity with brightness and yet, colorful skies. A good trend I see, but hard to attain.

I found my own personal likings with shine and environment but now my trees are f*&@ed. LOL Using EFLC Shaders in GTA IV on patch 1.0.7.0 with ENB 0.81 + timecyc's from 0.79!

Given what I've seen of your screens, I bet you'd like L3EVO's or Black_D's settings. Maybe you could try them? smile.gif Are you on patch 1.0.4.0? Nothing works for me when I patch to 1.0.4.0 or 1.0.0.4 so that's why I'm trying to make 1.0.7.0 work "as best as possible" while still trying to attain the bright, realistic environment + reflections + coronas + ambient lighting.

I made a made a Frankenstein GTA IV installation! happy.gif turn.gif whatsthat.gif

Good luck with your sets!

Oh I see. smile.gif

I use half brightness (GTA IV) with %25 contrast (GTA IV) and use only Black_D settings for all other settings. smile.gif

The environment lighting, or brightness I was referring to is very hard to describe to set. It's no "one" setting. I tried to do it with ENB 0.79 stock, but couldn't do it! As can be seen in this screen:

user posted image

I think the above shot looks good, but pales in comparison to:

user posted image user posted image

And without the proper set + timecyc a shot like this would never be possible:

user posted image

I tried to bring my ENB installation from the 1st screen here, to the 2nd and 3rd screens myself, but I was unable through manual editing. Now I'm just happy I have a good set together. As you can tell in this screen, it's nice and bright with realistic shadow contrast, but the trees are SCREWED cryani.gif icon14.gif

I'm using the shaders from Dpeasant's latest. I copied all the files from it to my GTAIV directory. I think this is the only mod I'm using at the moment. I did have VisualIV, but I think that Dpeasant's files overwrite all of those. And the fast loader mod also. Oh, and Better City Textures. Thats it.

I turned off ForeMinMaxValues, by setting it to values. Now I can't see anything 'cept the HUD/Radar.

I've got a ATi 5770 if that makes a difference ?

I would really like to get this dilemma fixed, so that I can't start playing the game properly.
Any suggestions would be appreciated ?

Fixed the problem with the brightness in the interior. Must of been conflict with another mod.

What is the best 'environment/visual' mod to use with Dpeasant's settings ?

It would be great to have one standard set of shaders used across all ENB mods and only the remaining ENB relevant files altered to make the remainder of the mod.

What i don't understand is, how can for instance, my GTA IV 1.0.4.0 installation not work with a particular ENB set? And, why is it that using a different set of shaders would cause the installation to work?

Has anyone come across a list of what each file, in the hierarchy of things, actually does? I think if more people knew what each file does or affects, there were be a higher ENB penetration.

That translates to higher player count. Which, could theoretically draw even more creative people into the community (actively).

I didnt include any shaders there. And your problems are caused by shaders and\or ptach different from version 1.0.4.0 or 1.0.3.0. And settings for use with those ptches ONLY and ONLY with vanilla textures(default). No vizual IV, no "super-mega new lighting system" or anything else, i cannot say what will happen when someone uses such combinations. The road textures by DKT are included, and theyre the only ones i can reccomend using for now.

1. what do you mean by not working? crash? messed up graphics?
2. rite.... here's what I know

a. timecycle set makes up for... I say maybe at least 50-60% of how the game looks like...
b. however ENB dramatically change how the sky looks and all things that come from it (e.g sky reflection on cars), for clouds you have enbclouds.fx
c. then you have the shader codes that controls color tone, bloom, dof and some others effect I don't know inside enbeffect.fx however some of these things are also adjustable from timecycle (dof) and enbseries.ini
d. then generally... skylighting, overall lighting, overall contrast, reflections, shadows, SSAO, SSIL, sun/stars, AA are from enbseries.ini however as I said above, some of them also from enbeffect.fx

is that is the kind of info you want?
