Don't know of any really, since the music I like most is uplifting, and like going to Church! A Spiritual affair.

This is by far the saddest song I've ever heard and the video does nothing to lighten the mood.

Simple Minds - 'Soul Crying Out'. Not a very pleasant song. Very dark and gloomy.

Johnny Cash 'Hurt'.......that was played at my dad's funeral back in 2006. To this day, I still burst into tears when I hear that song.

Saint Vitus - Petra (Patra)

For me it'd be The Psychopath. Hell 90% of their songs are shotgun mouthwash encouragement.

Speaking of shotgun mouthwash, listening to Nirvana today in particular is a tad depressing.

Nice to see another doom metal fan on these boards :)

I think the guitar solo on Psychopath is incredible! One of my favorite Saint Vitus records.

Another sad song: Candlemass - Tot

^ Likewise. I'm gonna go ahead and assume you're a fan of Electric Wizard too. :music:

Yeah, it's one of my favorites as well. I like how each song is a bit slower than the last, lends a lot to the album's almost tangible atmosphere.

^ Yup! :)

Old school doom especially.

I loved what Scott Reagers did withVitus, but Scott Weinrich is the king of doom voices - the guy has the voice of a dragon LOL!

I don't really listen to depressing music, so I wouldn't know that many. I listen to music to better my mood.. lol but this instrumental by As Blood Runs Black hits pretty damn hard in the feels.

I mean.. what's more depressing than two people, naked, singing a dreary dull song. It's creepier than me

So many....this isn't even my final feel.

I would say, to me, this is one of the most depressing songs I know. It gets me every time.

This one always gets to me, ever since the first time I heard it. It's really a great song. "Precious" by Depeche Mode.

Lawd this song..."Wherever You Will Go" by The Calling:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iAP9AF6DCu4

"The Dolphin's Cry" by Live:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBHmcORu4og

"See You on the Other Side" by Ozzy Osbourne:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eb5S_-USqOs

A lot of Seether songs but I guess I will pick this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0v64zMu78U

"Torn to Pieces" by Pop Evil "I sit here in misery, wondering if I'll ever be half the man you wanted me to be".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8A9J94UWI8

Lately, this one always hits me deep. "Found Out About You" by the Gin Blossoms.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qB6XdAkkAo

The chorus gets me every time "and you give yourself away...and you give....and you give...". "With our Without You" by U2

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmSdTa9kaiQ

These two Oasis songs, "Wonderwall" and "Little by Little":

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hzrDeceEKc

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ic-Na--7_NI

And of course "Hurt" covered by Johnny Cash, "What have I become, my sweetest friend? Everyone I know, goes away in the end":

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aF9AJm0RFc

This is a pretty relatable Staind song:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=araU0fZj6oQ

"Nutshell" by Alice in Chains:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N_GPxe91hWE

Jeff Buckley's version of Hallelujah:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8AWFf7EAc4

And tons more but I will stop otherwise I will just go on and on listing songs.

If it wasn't obvious by now, it should be, I am a depressive c*nt. But I hope that some of these songs are considered "good" by others here despite that. I have a pretty eclectic taste in music. I listen to everything as long as it sounds good to me.

I could go on listing songs from Journey, Metallica, so on and so forth.

Not just a sad song but one the most beautiful songs ever written. About the passing of time and death.

I don't find music depressing ..no matter hoiw melancholy the track is the fact that someone poured their feelings into this work is inspiring and moving Imho.

This is pretty sad, to me.

"I close my eyes only for a moment and the moment's gone."

"Just a drop of water in an endless sea. All we do crumbles to the ground, though we refuse to see."
