As Batuhan got banned, and as Kohaaw didn't make another topic for the mod yet, I decided to make a mssion development topic to keep y'all updated on mission making.

I'm the only scripter in the team, so don't expect ultra-fast updates.

What has been done so far
  • First 5 missions
    • Introduction
      • In the first part, there's no bus - it had some bugs confused.gif
      • The only animation which I could get was the chat one, so no hugs or anything else...
    • Home Sweet Home
      • No clothes change, as safehouse is buggy.
      • In rest, almost everything is just like in LCS
    • Slacker
      • Updated, there's a dialogue when you meet the dealer, and there's a dialogue on the way to Vincenzo between Toni and the dealer
    • Dealing Revenge
      • Besides no words from Toni after kicking a dealer, and besides the mission's harder with 5 instead of 3 dealers, everything's like in LCS smile.gif
    • Snuff
    • (WIP)Car Salesman
  • Acces to other islands blocked
    • Callahan Bridge Under Construction
    • Subway closed
    • Porter Tunnel closed
  • Ambience
    • Chinatown is now owned both by Mafia and Triads
    • Red Light District is now owned by Diablos
    • No more limos/blistas/ranchers in Portland
    • Fewer cops
  • In-game progress
    • How many missions passed from total mission now show up in the 'Stats'
    • Percent of game completition now shows up in the stats
  • Text
    • Mission Passed! now shows up as yellow
    • Mission Failed! now shows up as red
    • Most text was copied from the GXT Strings coming with Sanny Builder or the LCS original english.gxt [PSP]; this way it's as close as possible towards the original
  • Radar Markers
    • Portland Pay'N'Spray marker shows up while in Red Light District
    • V marker at Vincenzo's
    • CD marker at safehouse
    • Checkpoints are now yellow
    • Enemys' markers are now red
    • Car markers are now blue
  • How was it done?
    • All of this was done by me, only by mission scripting in main.scm [starting from scratch with a stripped one, only copying common stuff in LCS and 3 from GTA3's main.scm, such as garages, car crushers, pay'n'sprays...] and by editing the american.gxt
    • Source code has 2728 lines
    • Decompiled code has 3336 lines

Yeah, nice to see that icon14.gif! So, you already converted to III my models (from LCS PC Edition on SA)?

All your missions differs fron original LCS ones. Why you can not make all camera positions and ped placements real, take all coordinates from original MAIN.SCM?

And also you need to convert Hepburn Heights construction.

Well, it's because not all Liberty is converted, and I'm no converter.

So I guess if I'd take them from the LCS main.scm, you'd fall throught the ground...

GTA LCS coordinates = GTA III coordinates, so it shouldnt be any troubles with them.

OK, sorry for 1 week BUMP, but I have something hardly beliveable.

I MANAGED TO GET AUDIO WORKING.

YES.

So now they'll be proper cutscenes and dialogues smile.gif

Although I'll be working only with full .wavs for dialogues [not broken in parts] so it will take some time to get the right time for a text to appear.

It's now also possible to turn subtitles off, so you'll only hear the dialogue.

Good stuff, I am sorry I could not upload the radio stations, but you can record your own if you want, and I could guide you through the import process.

Don't worry, I managed to put in some from YouTube videos. But some are not full due to unknown reasons, so you still have the task. You may skip the following:
- Lips 106
- Head Radio
- Double Cleff FM
- The Liberty Jam

The text seems ok to me, what do you mean it will take a while to get it in place?

There was really no big deal with the formats. I just converted from .mp3 to .wav using Sony Vegas 9, I patched GTA3 to 1.1, I copied the audio files from the disc to GTAIII\audio [so it will load them from that folder, not from the disc] and I replaced a sound [for example, door_1.wav] with mine.

In-game I managed to get it to work ONLY if it doesn't play while fading. Because I tried [of course after wav loading]

And it didn't work.
I tried

wait 1500
03D1: play_wav
Still didn't work.
So I tried

fade 1 1500
wait 1501
And it amazingly worked! So it can't be played while fading, and there needs to be a wait 1 after the fade wait.
1500 + 1 = 1501

About the text: well look at this example.

I have a large audio file.

Let's say it contains 2 dialogues.

"There it is, Toni, Home Sweet Home, beutiful, ain't she?"

"This sh*thole is supposed to be my home?"

Well, I must use Sony Vegas to know the exact miniseconds to show the subtitles for the current audio part. Understand?

I know there's almost nothing out of place, but it took time to acomplish that sync.

Just had a thought, how about I upload the compressed fiels for the radio stations, and then give you a link to the decompression programme, as even without the radio stations listed above, it is still nearly 2GB in size.

This is a place for the leaders of LCS mods to work and talk. I am myself working on an equivalent mod. Well my progress the HUD and RADAR complete along with the LCS vehicles.But extra vehicles are to be added.
