It was sorta weird because i visited some of the famous NYC landmarks the other day and you want to think of the IV names for places or shout hey thats like where i found a Super GT or whatever or on Liberty Island i want to say the Statue of Liberty is facing the wrong way even though it is right and Happiness Statue is wrong, I went to the Unisphere and made me think of pushing peds in the water

Have you guys ever had that feeling

NYC is a cheap ripoff off LC, just blown up in scale.

Just like the Indians stole the name of their currency from Zelda.

And about the statue, it was also noticed before. Maybe it's somekind of internal joke.

LOL at "Monoglobe" name. tounge.gif

I work in Rockefeller Center, and was completely awestruck to see it more or less replicated in the game. Funny that St. Pat's and Radio City are on the same street, though.

R* did a really good job creating NYC. yeah i have some things that i would like to be added for instance STATEN ISLAND, more peds and traffic or bigger broker, but thats besides the point. i live in staten island, origionally form brooklyn, and think broker doesnt look like brooklyn in most areas. but hove beach is pretty close. i give R* mad props. good job

I like how they replicated Chelsea Piers and Lincoln Center. It's funny to play this game and say, "I've been here."

Yeah same here. I've never been to NYC in my life, but whenever I watch shows like CSI: NY alot of the areas, and landmarks are quite familiar to me because of the depictions in GTA IV.

I bet you all have already seen this, but anyway, here is nice set comparing LC and NYC:

I was trying to get pretty similar shot of Algonquin Bridge but I can't figure out what ingame time was it when that photo was captured. It seems that in the morning the lights are off before sunrise, and in the evening at the moment when they are turn on there is already nightime and the sky is dark. Any suggestions?

Those are some quite impressive comparison shots, I never realized Rockstar had replicated New York City in such detail. I like the fact that the State of Happiness is facing towards the city as opposed to facing out towards the harbour in order to welcome new immigrants travelling to Ellis Island; it says so much by doing so little. Impressive Rockstar.

Different game, but on the same topic (hope this isn't bad of me to do) I live near Richman in San Andreas. Like the town over next to the pier. When I drive around there I always feel weird like woah I could probably go near my house if I wanted. smile.gif

I used to despise NYC, but during the intense pre-release hype I fell in love with the city. GTA IV depicted the city so wonderfully, and I realized then that it does look like so in real life.

I haven't been to NYC and never really cared to visit, until I played GTA IV. Now I am curious to check out Algonquin, I mean Manhattan, hang out in da' hood, and try to find the Triangle Club.

I lived in New York for 2 years in 2002-2004. When I first played gta iv I was like 'holy sh*t I've been here!' I really want to go back now so I can compare Liberty City to New York.

Haven't ever been there, but playing GTA IV has made me want to take a trip to Manhattan some day.

When I watched scar face I recognised the UN building they drove past and it made me think of GTA IV. I think in IV it's called the "Civilization committee building"
