What did you do, tile the original one and let the game smash it down into the texture space? Looks like SA water, tiled 4x.

totally right, SA water cant look good, but only water from original particle.txd,
there's a few ''particle'' mods with realistic water without ENB Series, example: tropic-water(blue version) biggrin.gif

The water in san andreas is a plane that is manifested and subdivided at run time, fed animations by a type of particle (give or take for accuracy, but that's the gist of it). The only access you have to it without hacking it is the texture. It does look smoother, up close, but bad far away - this is just from too large texture in a small screen resolution. It can't fit all of these pixels in that tiny area, mipmaps will help that. Remember: HD does not mean big textures - this mistake is made very often. You can use the same size texture and make way more detail to it than any textures had in SA.

Many games use huge textures that could be half that size and still look exactly the same on current day resolution settings - GTA IV being one of them. They did that for the higher detail textures of the Same Size that will replace them in future games. San Andreas has a LOT of room for improvement without changing the size of the textures, and some mods who retexture them show how bad big textures are (grainy/ugly/do not fit the scale of the rendering).

So, the DFF, for water, it doesn't exist, but maybe you can hack that particle. If not, you can still work on that texture. Instead of tile it around itself and smash it into its texture space, RESIZE the original to bigger and add detail. Then you will make a hi def mod (if you resize or not), not just 4x pixels. It can be very good practice with textures icon14.gif

Nope, water is just a layer of texture, the only way to edit is adding bumpmaps etc. which are already added in ENB Series.

It is in D3D9 or other dll files of your SA folder.
You can edit it using Visual Basic Studio, i think with every version.
