I'm just excited over Rockstar's take on a 1970s setting, THAT alone is cause to get prepped for this game!!!
I lived in the 1970s, so it will be pretty interesting

Late-70s fashion, style, and music along with espionage made by Rockstar what could be better. I do not think the late-70s was the "height" of the Cold War though I think late 60s-early 70s better describes that. Still there are some interesting things to explore, for example: Iran Hostage crisis, more involvement in the Middle East, our steps towards a neutral standing with China.

I hope R* turn this into a series exclusive to the ps3!

Would it be so bad if they released it for other platforms?

X-Box 360 get The Lost & Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony, it's only befitting that us PS3 users get something in return. tounge.gif

Haha, but wouldn't it be better if we both got all of them?

If Charming Charlie will let me just say this... Some time ago, when everyone was choosing their next gen platform I stated
that if you choose the PS3 first, you can easily afford the Xbox later, and I am STILL feeling correct with that decision.
It worked out I spent MUCH less funds on my Xbox repair project and may wind up with three consoles all in all (two for sure already!)

I see one comment on how bad the setting will be, but I beg to differ, A few of us wanted GTA set in the 1970s.
I'd say late 70s is more interesting then early 1970s, but there'll be time to look at other periods to set games in,
I hope it's as open ended in style and substance as GTA is. GTA maybe confined to it's mission objective/race based story telling, but
The whole concept of the basis that makes it popular translates well to other game franchises, and who better then RN to pull it off!?

The page stretch is a pain on my 14 inch laptop screen... BTW.
Operation Condor is a Jackie Chan film as well, I've not seen it in ages, but I will break it out to refresh my memory.
I think it's also possible the settings of character and objectives may only be loosely associated with real situations and events. Like James
Bond, the settings were real, the situations were fictional.

Yeah i hope they are making it a freeroam game, as opposed to a linear, level based action shooter. I struggle to play anything these days
that doesn't have the freedom to go wherever you like. But i think a spy during the cold war will be a great premise for a game. Also i bet
your character is a russian

Just from what we got so far, I personally think it will have some kind of Getaway theme to it.

I wonder if it'll be a sandbox game?

A console is not a Handheld system, BTW, and GTA Dude, you are not correct, I've stated more then once that support for this GTA4 will extend for some time, beyond two exclusive DLCs. Just you wait and see, don't ASSUME!

You yourself are assuming there will be more content for IV.

Yes, I know there will be more GTA4 content, how quickly we forget all the press prior to the game's release, eh?

Go back and read some of those

Im interested to see as to see what country the protagonist will be representing, since I am a New Yorker meaning im American you know I gotta
rep my overpowered, young, hypocritical, full of evil country the United States of America!!

Though I have this gut feeling that you may be playing as multiple people in this game for some reason,
something like the old GTA's where you could go to every city and play as different people, just in this case it will be COUNTRIES

<snip>

Yeah man, that's exactly the type of thing that I've been thinking about. People keep saying Bond and mentioning Bond in the 70s... but I don't think this will have anything to do with that. This will have to do with all the secret operations taken around the world by both the US and the USSR to ensure that their interests are kept secure... regardless of the cost. another situation from the 70s that might be of interest to you was the 1973 coup in Chile. The Chilean president at that time was a democratically elected socialist named Salvador Allende. Despite the fact that he was democratically elected and had actually condemned the actions of the USSR on numerous occasions (Allende was strongly against preemptive military strikes and was in a way a pacifist), Nixon didn't like him because of the word "socialist." So the CIA got in touch with the Chilean military who they promised to support in a coup. And that's what happened... the military took over, they rounded up thousands into camps where they were tortured and executed, and the fascist General Pinochet ruled over Chile for the next 20 years completely back by the United States. It's absolutely insane... but this stuff happened all the time, and I think that this game will deal with these type of events.

It's very much speculation to draw many conclusions based on no evidence from RN, but I also felt it may take some influence from LA Noire, what we were shown of that game already, Giving some indication of the style graphically where the gaming will take place... obviously not identicle, but the style of 3D environments that I think Rockstar will try to develop.

Red Dead Revolver has a seemingly vast playing field from the looks of things so far. Of course, Liberty City was not as big as SanAn, but more depth to it, as Houser explained,
I feel they may try to get better use of the storage equation allowing even bigger land mass. I could see plane travel as in SA, where you'd get to a new location over a body of water, for example

I JUST saw a TV ad for PS3 exclusive Infamous.

Doesn't look mind blowing with the graphics, but not bad either.
Just thought I'd mention that for PS3 owners, keep an eye out for the advert

This game seems intresting. I hope we play as a USSR spy. I hate always having to be an American in a game.

Not too fussed, but it'd be pretty badass if it eventually came out for PC.

Hope this is going to kick some major ass. I mean I may have to buy PS3 for this.
It was hard enough not to get MGS4 or Uncharted. So I suppose this is going to be
a must have game. Then again it's really frustrating if they release it on 360 after all.
I hope the game is more like The Good Sheperd with a touch of GTA more than James Bond.
Remains to be seen.

I wish they would release more info now, but I'm guessing they won't until TBoGT is out. At least a screeny.

i always wonder, who will become the protagonist in this game. in previous games that R* have been made, there's a italian-american (vercetti & cipriani) in their games for long time, also the afro-american (cj), jewish-american (johnny klebitz), serb (niko bellic), and the dominican-american (luis lopez & vic vance). i wish they will make a main protagonist from redneck's background. that would be awsome to see an agent from rural areas in southern US. i'm also wonder if R* make the protagonist from british background. nice to hear our own protagonist with british accent. hehehe just my personal opinion.

Some American spy will be the protaganist and I'm gonna have to say the russians will be the enemie's.

Also R* said that(most likely. There's still a small chance they may give us some info in 2009) that they will not release any info before 2010.

I'm wondering if Agent will be a open world/ free roaming game, if so it might explain why it won't be on the 360, if the size of the game is to big for DVD but that doesn't affect the PC off course.

that's great if they install american spy as a protagonist. but what i mean is, will R* make another character's descent outside from what i explain in above. you know.. vercetti & cipriani was italian-american, as well as luis lopez & vic vance which have dominican blood in their vein. actually i ain't concern too much about protagonist's nationality, but i glad to know from what descent our protagonist was. i'm very exciting with this upcoming title. i want to know a lot about it. so lets we start the hot discussion in here.

p.s.: sorry for my bad english.
