Idk it should work
the only reason why it wouldnt is if it wasnt a animated gif yet. are you sure you presssed this?

in xara and not just export?
Also, if (Ctrl + Shift + X) doesnt work it would seem you have a newer/older version of FW than me.
To get to the export wizard the long(er) way, click here...

One more question. After I have saved the animation as a Gif. from Xara3D then is it a must to edit it once more in like PS>? Because I got a bit worried when I uploaded the Gif. into PS it looked quite bad. What is teh problem now. And when I upload the Gif. with for example Tinypic, mien doesn't have animation, it is only a static pic: user posted image

This is starting to go way off topic. And I'm sorry to continue the trend....
How are you importing the GIF into Photoshop?
First you need to make sure Apple's QuickTime is installed. However if you don't like QT you can get around from haivng to install everything by getting QuickTime Alternative or (what I use) QuickTime Alternative Lite
You can't use just open the file like normal; File->Open
You have to do it this way:
File->Import->Video Frames to Layers
Browse to where your GIF files it, like normal
Where it says File name type *.* and hit Enter. Now you can see all of the files.
Select the file you want to open
Range To Import: From Beginning to End
Make Frame Animation: checked
Click OK

Now each frame of the animation will be a layer. Windows->Animation will let you see the animation timeline and make adjustments there.

When you're done and ready to save. File->Save for Web & Devices
Make sure GIF is selected

I Wouldn't say that, since its a tutorial thread its pretty On topic that we are tutoring someone
And I wouldnt say your a noob Rafto, i obviously didnt explain things that well but its cool now that your clear on everything.
You have to remember that your software isnt going to know what you want to do. You have to tell it every step of the way that your dealing with an Animation and not just a still, or its not going to treat the image like one.

And @ Wolf. It seems its a lot more complicated to import an animation into photoshop than it is into Fireworks. Its pretty much just, 'open' , in fireworks, and then there is a 'frame' panel, which you can flick through, & play, pause etc, as well as speed up/slow down the pause time etc. Theres also a few batch commands that can be done to modify every frame easily. You still have to export as an animated gif though and that was what I was getting at at rafto if this paragraph now seems contridictioary.

Wow! Nice for your first try man. I didn't read the OP but isn't there an option to add a fake anti aliasing matte so it blends in with the background a little more? Atm it looks a little jaggy. But real nice still, didn't realise it was so easy, you seemed to get the hang of it pretty quick.

@ Narcis: Looking good, you learn extremely fast biggrin.gif , except for the jaggedy egde. i thought for a second it was becuase you were exporting it with a while background, but it looks like thats not the case, as furnace said, I think youve switched off anti aliasing down the line.
@ Racer: There are so many different layers to creating a signature I couldnt imagine where to start. I guess you just need to have an 'eye' for graphics & some skill which comes from lots of practice to back it up (if that doesnt make my ego look too inflated)
&@Furnace: Its easy but only becuase its not true 3d. How are you creating yours? 3dsmax? blender?

Wait , maybe it is a background colour problem.
Take this sample of the forum's default blue colour, and make it the background texture. Then try it. Cut it out and make it transparent as normal.

If you want it to appear a little sharper, Narcis, you should change the the colour of LIGHT1,2&3 to white, instead of the default coloured ones.
Also, Ive found textures dont work too well,. Products of Xara usually look better if there just nice shapes with block colours.

GIMP is nightmare to use.
Alas, it shouldn't be too hard. Add an alpha channel, and then select BY COLOUR. Now, click the background of the gif, and it should cut out that background for every frame in one go.
If any of that makes sence? smile.gif It's been a while since ive used GIMP

I never actually got it to work and now I'm making an avatar for myself but there is one problem. I can't save it as a Animated Gif. It doesn't have that option. I believe I should go to export animation and then choose Animated Gif. If I'm not please clarify.
