Some issues here:

Strafing no longer works properly.. It also turns the camera.. =\

The camera pitch is unable to be adjusted now while locked on during melee fights. (the heading is understandable, because you're locked on, but the pitch must remain unlocked to be useful)
Rolling (when landing from a big jump) seems pretty broken too.. the player ends up spinning while rolling somehow, then when the animation is over, the camera suddenly jumps back into the rotation it was in before the roll

The environment looks very bright when looking out of the front windshield of vehicles.

Probably an HDR thing. Anyone have any information?

So, Whenever I'd driving along, and go up a hill in FP mode, the cam stays staring at the horizon... is there any way to make it pitch with the motion of the vehicle? If need be, I can post a video of what I mean

v1.3 seems like a regression unfortunately. The aiming and movement mechanics in v1.22 are the best so far, where movement doesn't directly affect vision.

Hopefully we get GTA V on PC soon so C06alt can just port his mod proper to V.

Best mod ever.  You need to update your other pages of this mod.

Hey guys, I'm having trouble installing this mod.

-I purchased and downloaded GTA IV on steam a few days ago (Steam sale).
-I downgraded my GTA IV installation to 1.0.4 and verified that the .exe is 1.0.4.
-I installed the RGSC program.
-I downloaded IVAsiLoader and copied dsound.dll into my GTA IV folder.
-I downloaded the FirstPerson mod and copied the FirstPerson.asi and FirstPerson.ini files to my GTA IV folder.

The effects of the mod do not show up in GTA IV.

Here is my asilog.txt file:

I'll also note that I am running Windows 7 x64 and I have GTAIV.exe and LaunchGTAIV.exe set to run as Administrator.

Any ideas? :panic:

EDIT: I figured it out guys. Turns out I needed Scripthook.dll as well

Your mod was not being loaded into memory. Like you said you need to install script hook aswell.

Hey, does anyone still have the archive for the 1.22 version of this mod? Can't find it anywhere.

Seems Rockstar is putting A First person view in GTA V.

http://venturebeat.c...de-is-exciting/

Hooray for Rockstar !!

Id like to think I helped convince them it was a viable option :D

If required I will still work on Oculus rift support for V when the time comes but I hope they patch that in too.

Any chance you're going to rework this mod to be more like V's version, or maybe fix the issues with this one?

I second this.

Heck, if you don't want to maintain the script, you can always just release the source. Someone will surely pick it up.

Yeah, fixes would be nice. The camera is really glitchy with this version.

Well on GTA4-Mods there are still a couple of old versions left.

In the meantime, anyone have any good FOV and/or camera placement coords for the .ini file that make the camera look more like GTA V's first person mode, or any other FPS games?

The head tracking doesn't function properly with the Oculus Rift DK2 using the First Person MOD 1.3 Oculus Rift ini.  Head tracking functions with the normal ini for version 1.3, but i like the quick turn feature and adjusted view with the Oculus settings and i'm sure the head tracking would be better too.  The head tracking works when i'm in third person mode. I tried Vireio and VorpX. Will there be an update?

I know this is a pretty old thread, but i think this should be said.

I don't know if i'm using an older version or something. But when i try to aim any of the weapons from episodes, the crosshair is nonexistent and my arm wobbles all over the place.

Headtracking works and looks like it attempt to do VR but the images aren't lining up in my view. The images are a bit apart. I don't know how to line them up. Any suggestions?

Can someone else pick up this mod and make the head tracking function with the CV1?  VorpX just released a version that works with Oculus Home (1.3).
