apparently you didn't get baking issues, but edges are still too sharp, some parts look like they haven't been baked at all even though they are. racer445 had nice pic demonstrating how it affects the lighting when you have the softer edges compared to sharper, couldn't find the pic.

You mean it wont look smoothed in the distance? Well, as I mentioned before, that was my idea. It's meant to be a hard edge, what you show me there is very smooth, not like the real gun is supposed to be.

That looks more like artistic freedom. Which is okay, but not what I was aiming for. smile.gif

He means it wont bake properly, if the edges are soft the lowpoly mesh has more to highpoly mesh to get normal map data from.

Unless you are planning on making the lowpoly mesh highpoly with super round parts, but that would somewhat kill the purpose of a normal map lol

I was under the impression that the image he posted showed that the softer the edges, the better it will look when the model is rendered small.
But since it's a 1st person model, I don't think I will have that problem.

It's not bad at all. Lots of thing needs to be fixed, like his ears, nose, and lips. Nevertheless, keep up the good work.
Only tips that i can recommend is keep watching how other people sculpt stuff, and then try to learn how they do it.

Started on hand painting my model, only her head that is done yet.

I've been trying to make a HD-ish Tommy model

The model was made by taking tessellating the original VC model and combining it with Max's head from Max Payne 3. Texture is also made up of Max's facemap and parts of vakooja's HD Tommy skin.
It still looks kinda weird so there's more work to be done, but it's getting there.

It looks good, but i think it needed more detail since it looks so plain, or maybe because of crappy RAGE.
He's almost look like the old Tommy, but something really put me off there. Maybe because of his huge-awesome-manly-chin.

Oh, yeah, the shirt pattern right now from vakooja's texture, but that's temporary, I plan to just remake the pattern myself.
And which parts do you mean need more detail? I'm trying to get most of the stuff at around a GTAIV detail level, maybe only a bit more detailed.
And yeah, the face is still probably not perfect, I've been trying to get him to match the original model's shape but also keeping it somewhat more realistic, but that's really as close as I got.
