This is the link for downloading the new gfwl update!
GFWL UPDATE
It is clearly written that this update should be done outside the game! Not from the inside! So i did the same! I uninstalled gfwl and installed the 3.5 version and then updated with this one! Done! have a nice day PLAYING!

ohoh so patch 1.0.4.0 is confirmed?

"Grand Theft Auto IV requires that this update take place outside of the game as there is a known issue when updating Games for Windows - LIVE from within the game. The problem will be addressed in a future game patch. We apologize for any inconvenience."

Is that the new GFWL update? Because I installed the update from within the game and the stuttering issue has disappeared. It's working fine for me; just how it was before.

Played MP and SP with it for some time. No stutters and it's back to normal.
Good job by MS although they should'nt have screwed it up in the first place.

I'd like to say thank you as well. Without condition but with these additions:

- nice and fast considering, as I'm sure, THIS was quite unexpected
- have a nice weekend, take tomorrow OFF R* and M$ guys, you've earned it

Ahhhh, I must have run down a hundred people before I truly started to feel better. Star Junction is such a nice place to cause a s*it storm biggrin.gif

(What's a s*it storm Julian?! Is that some kind of s*ity storm where it rans poop or something?!?)

Oh, and it was nice to give L4D a go again. Anyone remember that game??

Thanks for keeping me company GTA Forums. I'll be a little bit more quiet for, uhhh, a while I guess.....46% and rising biggrin.gif

Not for me. It's just back to how it was before the last update.

Well isnt this ironic?!...same guys that where complaining and insulting Microsoft yesterday are giveing "thanks" to the same company and praise it today...Anyhow ill stick to xliveless and from now on ill donwload crack versions of the games i want to play...iam not buying any pc game from now on...coz it seems that only the onest customers have to suffer while those who downloaded ilegal copys of the game goes like-"what the game is broken?pfff i dont care, is not like i payed for it...ill play another ilegal downloaded game mean time"- but us the ones who payed for the game are going on forums and writeing...we go on Windows live forums and write there trying to make those peoples to come up with a fix faster etc etc.
But at the next failure either from M$ or R*(coz things like this messed update will happen again) i want to be one of those guys who sayz -"Pfff i dont care... is not like i payed for it"-(wich actually i cannot say ..since i have allready bought the game biggrin.gif )

Yes i have noticed people being a little, hypocriticle, first saying how bad they are, and then saying thanks and good job. But it doesn't really matter, as long as everyone is happy to have it fixed again thats the point.

I definitely have lowered respect for MS and R* now, although mainly for MS.

If this does happen again though, i don't think we will see anybody saying thank you for a fix, and rightly so.
