Taxi Missions BETA:
Enables taxi missions for Grand Theft Auto: IV.

-Over 400 different Taxi Missions and more to come with updates.
-GPS routes to destinations.
-Speed bonus with timer.
-Bonuses for X missions in a row.
-Missions based on islands unlocked.
-Peds go to different locations each time and you will not repeat the same mission in a row.
-When X missions are completed you will be rewarded with special Taxi abilities. (Not implemented yet)

Nice work! I had no problems but tip was a bit too slow. There was no flickering.

Edit: It often choosed customers behind me, instead some in front of me.

Wow it works like a charm!
One suggestion:
I am playing with an Xbox 360 controller, so can you make the mod start with LB on the Xbox 360 controller (just like the Police computer)? That would be nice and that would make this mod feel like integrated into the game. And it is easier because you only need your controller.

I am having trouble installing the mod.

I put the following files into the GTA IV directory:
ScriptHook.dll, taxiMissions.asi

but where can I find an asi loader that will work for the latest version of the game?

(I'm running the latest GFWL patch (the one that makes the game perform horribly.)

It works! I will be testing your mod today. So far I am very impressed;

1) Which bugs did you find with the mod?
-----> none found so far...
2) What do you like about the mod, what do you dislike about the mod?
-----> seems integrated well into the game. nice job so far.
3) What suggestions do you have about the mod?
-----> see question 6, also, make the button that enables police missions the same for taxis. (is it left bumper 1 on ps3?)
4) What do you think of the tip bar? Is it going too fast? Too slow?
-----> the tip bar goes too fast, try making it about 50-25% that speed and things will be more realistic...part of the reason a driver gets a tip is for getting the passenger to the destination safely, being well mannered and helpful, and lastly getting there quickly! =P...so yeah, 50% the speed it is currently would be good I think =P
5) What kind of bonuses do you recommend? (These will be activated when a player reaches, for example, 50 taxi missions. Example: nitro for all cabs)
-----> nitro would be cool! Also, a customised Taxi could appear at your safehouse (perhaps a high-performance Prius, Dukes, etc with Taxi skin). This custom Taxi could also be used for missions.
6) What do you think of the display elements of the mod?
-----> the destination graphic could be changed to a yellow arrow instead of the red glow currently used (you could use the passenger pick-up arrow perhaps...)
7) Do you see the text / bars flickering ?
-----> hmm...I did not notice this...will look more closely
7a) If you see any flickering, can you please write your system specs?
-----> none found so far...but I am running a Core i7, 9800GTX+1gb, 6gb RAM
8) Does this mod have any problems when used with any other mods?
-----> I am only running xliveless and taxi missions mod currently

I'll keep testing at different points during the day, but so far great job guys!!!

I like that you can use Roman's Taxi for these missions,
Maybe you can make an INI for choosing which button to use and whether you may drive only taxi's, or every car.

I found nothing, works perfect.

2) What do you like about the mod, what do you dislike about the mod?
I made an accident while driving a passanger through the city and I had to repair it immediately - very realistic, nice addon. But in general everything is realistic and seems to be perfect.

3) What suggestions do you have about the mod?
Is it possible to make a special version of this mod with the cab of Roman? In my second save for example, Roman died in the end and now it would be cool to continue his business with his own car. And maybe you could remove that cops/medics can't join as passanger, but thats not important.

4) What do you think of the tip bar? Is it going too fast? Too slow?
Its ok for me, but in generel it goes a bit to fast.

Mh, I don't know yet.

Like 322 posted, you could change the red glow instead of a arrow or something like that.

Yeah I will solve the destination thing, the problem is that I cannot use any arrow models because those are bugged.
But, I will find a solution.

Can't you just make an INI? With button choice, and whether you may drive only taxi's, or every car. smile.gif

By a small mod I mean I'll give it to someone who has a controller, they will press the buttons and tell me which number corresponds to which button, then we can put that in the taxi mod or any future mods.

I will make an .ini, don't worry

Good work icon14.gif Iīm not a fan of the taxi missions. Just tested because of interessting.
It was annoying as I had to drive in the garage just near the destination and the passenger exited the car at the garage.
2 trails, allways long routes failed and I gave it up.
I remember as I made the original taxi missi I could complete 12 jobs in one run with same car without repairing and the car was smoking very much.
Question: Does your asi file include the taxi mission script or does it initialize the original script?

the problem with the car engine is not about the taxi mod, it's more about the game engine.
what do you mean by the "original script"? what original taxi missions? roman's?
my taxi mission script is built from scratch

Shure, I meant romans taxi. I had read in any topic that users which to can play the taxi mission also later after advanced game process. I did it not wrong, I had just much demage because of much traffic.
A bit more health for the car would be helpful or car health in relation to traffic density.
Only suggestion, as I said, Iīm not a fan of the taxi missions.

seriously, I checked all peds' money, hobos have enough money to go a few blocks tounge.gif
gtaiv's economy is quite different!

- it's ok.. maybe u can make the tip bar faster after collected more customers (= level increase)

When you have no fare, the taxi sign should be lit up -- indicating the cab is vacant.
When you pick up a fare, the sign light should go off - indicating the cab is occupied.

The taximeter should display the destination and cost accumulation (just like when Niko is a passenger in a cab).

Hergonan, is this possible? I have yet to look at any of the scripts and am not sure where the information for taximeter display is stored.

I think adding these features (with the above mentioned critiques) will complete this mod and bring it to top notch professional standards.

p.s. can we edit the tip bar speed via an .ini as well as the button to activate the missions?
