Thank you General Goose, I'll keep that in mind. I'm going to watch a load of British gangster movies and see what I come up with. I might even consider setting the story in the past - like GTA London: 69 & 61.

I just came up with a random mission idea, something that I think could rival Three Leaf Clover or the Casino Heist from San Andreas:

You start off sneaking your way into the massive Dildoscraper in the City of Majestic. Once you reach the top floor you smash the windows and parachute down onto the Tower of Majestic where you proceed to steal the Crown Jewels (shaped in a rather provocative way, I might add).

A firefight ensues with the police as you're forced to fight your way out of the building. Once you reach the bottom of the structure there is three Tini Cars waiting at the entrance with three drivers waiting to drive you away. During the shoot-out one of the drivers is shot and you're forced to drive one of the cars.

You get into the Tini and drive off with the two other robbers, you separate and meet each other on the main road where you pill into the back of a car truck. The car truck then takes you to a warehouse on the edge of the city where you pile into a Red Bus and make good your escape.

Thoughts? Opinions?

That's a nice idea..
What will happen to the crown jewel? That seems to be a lot of money

anyway.. Good luck to all Brits out here for
the
PAQUIAO vs HATTON fight.
EAST vs WEST

Me and Chunk already discussed that idea - you have to infiltrate the Maummar Syndicate by entering Fakir's illegal fighting ring and working your way to the top. Once you do he would hire you as his personal bodyguard and you would start working for him until you're introduced to his brother: Hamad.

At first glance at the name, I thought it was a Atlantic City Knock-off.  So I'm guessing London?

Yes. A fictionalized version of London.

Sounds good. And like many have said before, nice job. cookie.gif cookie.gif cookie.gif for you both!

My only thoughts, and this isn't a knock, buuut it's outside the US. Most of us 'mericans would have no idea about most of these gangs. All I'm saying is that the story might have have to be brought in slow. It would be like if you started out working for that redneck guy at the start of Vice City. You'd be like...What the f- is he saying...but it would be British. All classy like with tea and crumpets and such. Plus, I don't know how R* would do turning the sarcasm gun against themselves ( don't get me started on East End Cockney) although I really don't put anything past them provided it's a good story.

Also, what would be some good movie references that this story would follow/mock?

Those are my thoughts, nice job. icon14.gif

Can I just say, brilliant work jacky, and Spaghetti Cat, seriously, those of us that live in England have that problem with the other GTA games. Seriously, it is time for a British version. There have been 6 american GTA 3D games, and no english ones. The only 2 uk games are 2D ones, so seriously, give us a chance!

I mean even the police don't carry guns over there. (Right?) So what are they going to do while chasing you? Ask politely to slow down?

No, instead of firing weapons at people, they disarm people and make a successful arrest, or enforce police brutality on people, bastards mad.gif

common now, trying to make a realistic point. Am I correct in that the police don't carry guns? All I've seen on the TV is the police batons, unless that is something that has changed recently. My only point is that the police would be less effective against a gun-totting criminal.

And thanks DanManUtd, I was too lazy to do my own research. icon14.gif

Yes, what you have said is true, however there are some specialist police teams that carry weapons. All officers carry batons and CS gas (teargas). There are ARV (Armed Response Vehicle) officers and SFOs (Specialist Firearms Officers) which carry Mp5s and G36s, as well as glock 17 pistols and Taser International M26 and X26 tasers.

More recently, more specialist, otherwise unarmed teams have been trained to carry the M26s

So basicly in the UK the police have a car that they use for patroling and one for response?
Wow, here in the US the police use one type car that's used for both patrol and response.

In the UK there are 3 types of general police car, excluding ARVs, vans, CID etc:

Police patrol car: used for 999 calls, domestic violence, robbery etc, rarely unmarked
Marked Traffic cars: Used for pursuits and occasionally raids, fitted with number plate cameras
Proactive cars/Unmarked Traffic car: Used for pursuits and raids, fitted with number plate cameras (more info: road wars, Sky 1 2 and 3)

Officers are often transferred between the 3 types during their career they start on patrol, then marked traffic and then highly elite proactive units

First of all Jacky, well done on the wanted level so far. However, there are a couple of things that should be changed:

1. CID are not armed
2. A police helicopter has not been included

I also have an idea for a wanted level buildup

1. Uniform officers attack with batons from marked cars
2. A mixture of Uniform, from marked cars, and CID officers, from unmarked cars, armed with batons and tasers
3. Riot police attack with CS gas, batons, tasers, and are armoured by bulletproof vests and riot shields, from armoured vans, also police helicopter is deployed
4. AFOs attack with pistols and MP5s from long range, and tasers from short range, from ARVs
5. SFOs attack with G36s and pistol grip shotguns, from differently marked ARVs from AFOs
6. SAS paratroopers and ground units attack with G36s and RPGs (if player is in vehicle), from large planes flying overhead and military trucks on the ground, police helicopter is withdrawn to clear airspace

For added realism, the colours of police cars and helicopters should be changed from monochromatic black/green and white to yellow and blue & yellow and orange for cars, and yellow and black for helicopters, ie

With the helicopter, a possible idea would be a built in searchlight (such as in SA) and a built in thermal imaging camera, both of which can be operated by the player when they fly the copter
