Just read the punctuation trick thread.

Do exactly same.

Seek for your sentence to colore.

Then, put the following behind the word to colore:

(COMPLETE LIST OF COLORS)

~r~ = Red
~g~ = Green
~y~ = Yellow
~b~ = Blue
~i~ = Light Green
~p~ = Dark Purple
~l~ = Black
~w~ = White (Lol)

(MISC) (This is MISC, MISC, MIIISC!!! So don't say that "omg lol this not useful at all!! alien.gif alien.gif alien.gif " )

~h~ = Highlight cookie.gif cookie.gif cookie.gif
[MENU2P] = 2 Player Missions Text
spotted by Sniputer

BTW, You can also put some GXT things to show up player's controls. Some people thinks everyone moves using W but I use Z! Hehe! Now, like in the introduction by Sniputer I want the player to see his key.

So I'll do:

To move forward, hold down ~k~~GO_FORWARD~.

Ok! smile.gif

LIST of USEFUL PLAYERS CONTROLS GXT SYNTAX (in progress, may be empty):

PLAYER ON FOOT
~k~~PED_FIREWEAPON~ (Key to fire)
~k~~PED_CYCLEWEAPON_RIGHT~ (Key to next wep/target)
~k~~PED_CYCLEWEAPON_LEFT~ (Key to prev wep/target)
~k~~GROUP_CONTROL_FWD~ (Key to recruit gang/gang forward)
~k~~GROUP_CONTROL_BWD~ (Key to tell gang to stop. Or un-recruit?)
~k~~GO_BACK~ (Backward)
~k~~GO_FORWARD~ (Forward)
~k~~GO_LEFT~ (Move right)
~k~~GO_RIGHT~ (Move left)
~k~~VEHICLE_ENTER_EXIT~ (Enter a vehicle, or leave it)
~k~~CAMERA_CHANGE_VIEW_ALL_SITUATIONS~ (Change the view)
~k~~PED_JUMPING~ (Jump)
~k~~PED_SPRINT~ (Sprint)
~k~~PED_LOCK_TARGET~ (Aim)
~k~~PED_DUCK~ (Crouch)
~k~~PED_ANSWER_PHONE~ (Action, useless now, will in 5.0 the phone objective will be avaliable?)
~k~~SNEAK_ABOUT~ (Sneak. Walk, in other terms.)
~k~~PED_LOOKBEHIND~ (Look behind).

If you still dont understand, it mean when i open the dyom mission in notepad++, I'll can add things like ~k~~GO_FORWARD~ in a sentence which is "To move forward press X". I'll just change X by ~k~~GO_FORWARD~ and here the things are done smile.gif

I'll do the list of [Player in Car] later sad.gif

Want colors and punctuation in your mission? Then give this a try!

BE SURE TO MAKE A BACKUP OF THE .DAT, AND DO NOT REMOVE ANY NUL/BS/SI/SWEETANDRYDERAREHAVINGSEXATTHEPARK and all the other weird characters!. (DO IT In Notepad++) This is important. If you don't do it then you risk to lose your mission!

You don't need to do that with the "punctuation trick".
~ is an exception and can be entered bij pressing <shift> + `
(On our dutch keyboards that's the location of the ~ )

Edit:

I think I'll make a Video Tutorial, for Punctuation & Color. When I'll have the time (There's a lot of chances for that I make it Wednesday).

PatrickW > Why do you generalize only German Keyboards? Mine is bought from France, and I personally have problem with the tilde. (Press 2 twice, quickly and two tilde (~) will appear, remove one).

BTW, aren't you from Nederlands?

German? Patrick didn't say anything about Germany of German keyboards. He said Dutch...

We don't generalize, he said where the key was on the Dutch keyboards...

I was trying to say that you can type an ~ while inserting text, by pressing <shift> + `

And this might for some people seem like a strange combo to type a ~,
but on our dutch keyboards that's were the ~ is located.

[QUOTE=Dutchy3010,Apr 6 2009, 11:24] German? Patrick didn't say anything about Germany of German keyboards. He said Dutch...

And what's the difference between Dutch/Deustch/German ? confused.gif

Edit:

No, I seem to have a French Keyboard.

On French Keyboards, it's Ctrl + Alt + . Or Alt Gr + (but after all, they're both same, people are doing this for the lulz).

It turns out that it isn't even the "Dutch layout" (which hardly anybody uses), but the "US-international", which most dutch people use.

More about keyboard layouts: wikipedia

Dutch -> The Netherlands/Holland/Nederland
German -> Germany/Deutschland

Two different countries.
If you want to really offend a dutchman, you have to say that he's a german. tounge.gif

AH YES! I know this bug

In my mission I placed the checkpoints (like a normal mission!!!) and the actors.

And then, when I play it I see all the checkpoints and actors, like I didnt used the hide-spawn from the beginning.

And then, when I close SA, and relaunch it, or when I reload the mission, it disappears!

When this happens remember to reload/close SA and relaunch aigain turn.gif

Thanks for saying Sniputer in that topic, lol. BTW, if I want to open GXT Editor, I will look for some other sh*t.

~k~~VEHICLE_HANDBRAKE~ = Handbrake / R* style: Back brake LOL?! :F
~k~~VEHICLE_ENTER_EXIT~ = Enter / Exit
~k~~VEHICLE_BRAKE~ = Brake / Reverse
~k~~VEHICLE_ACCELERATE~ = Accelerate
~k~~VEHICLE_TURRETUP~ = Winch Up / check Robbing Uncle Sam
~k~~VEHICLE_TURRETDOWN~ = Winch Down / check Robbing Uncle Sam
~k~~TOGGLE_SUBMISSIONS~ = Vigilante, Paramedic, Firefighter, Burglary, Pimping, Trainmission / mission trigger

More to come. Although understanding GXT codes like that is not "LIKE A GLOVE!"

Yes, GXT Editor is the best.

ALSO: To know how to make a special charac' with GXT-Editor such as or , just write it on a copy of american.gxt, and then:
Open up american.gxt with notepad++, and seek for your sentence that you added the .

You will see in weird things such as -01--1 or something like that.

I found alot of extra stuff that never made it to the game, but because that doesn't improve DYOM missions, I'll leave it... and, hey it's always good to help ppl.

These are just specific formatings for a particular type of info used by rockstar in their texts.
I'm not sure what the specific colorings are though, You'll have to test that. I just found them, and posted them here to get your list complete smile.gif
