Martha's Mugshot is great because you get all those cops chasing you. If you're in the almost everything proof Admiral from mission Guardian Angels then you can cruise around for ages watching the cops, FBI & SWAT trying to catch you.

When the police start laying out the spike strips the trick is for you to avoid it but make the car(s) chasing you run over the spikes biggrin.gif

Even if you don't have the Admiral, it's still good fun trying to keep the damage to a minimum, especially from those FBI waiting for you back at the studio

I don't really like "Death Row". The only way I've been able to complete itis by spawning a Rhino, and myself, and Lance make a hasty getaway out of the junkyard in it. devil.gif

What on Earth are you talking about...?! ph34r.gif

I think, judging by the replies in this topic, that the most hated missions are the ones that people have difficulty with. I'm not in the same boat, since I've played and completed VC more times than I've had hot dinners (And I have one of those nearly every other day! tounge.gif ).

Most of the missions mentioned are the ones I take pride in completing and thrive upon-

Demolition Man- I absolutely love this mission, and play through the mission in two different ways, depending on what mood I'm in. I often try and complete it in the quickest time possible, by charging through the building, completely ignoring the Builders and P.I.G's (best is around (three minutes twenty seconds). And other times, when I'm feeling more tranquil, I like to charge through the building, making sure that I charge through the builders and P.I.G's in the process. The rotating blade makes for a great killing spree, and I still have minutes to spare to actually complete the mission.

Publicity Tour- Man, what a buzz this mission is! There's nothing quite like charging down the roads of Downtown with your foot to the floor, fearing for your existence whilst a group of obnoxious, rude and downright comical Scotsman panic and start acting hysterical at the fact that if I go too slow, kaboom! It give me an adrenaline rush, something that a select few missions actually do. I tend to play through this mission with at least a two-star wanted level as well, which only adds to the excitement. Great fun!

Death Row- This is another mission that gives me an adrenaline buzz, especially when I'm storming to the Junkyard in my Stinger, listening to 'Flock of Seagulls' rendition of 'Run'. I take prided in obliterating Diaz's goons, both with my weaponry and with the Trashmaster. And it's all leading up to the big showdown, thrilling stuff!

I really wish I could contribute to this topic with a mission that I hate, but there really isn't one!

Yeah, it's called Bombs Away, and you have to destroy a Cuban Jetmax, two Speeders and a Cuban Hermes. I even find that mission to be a buzz. At first I hated it as much as one man could, but once you get used to the controls of the RC Baron, and get to grips with the bombing mechanism, the machine becomes great fun. For me, anyway.

And, like with most missions, once you find out how to do it then it's easy enough to do. You can vary the method to make it more challenging if you want. Or you can set yourself targets like doing a mission with minimum damage or in a certain time. But there aren't many missisons that are consistently difficult just to finish them.

But that doesn't stop the game from being interesting and fun lol.gif

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I spent a fair while going on mission speed-runs, offering more diverse challenges to myself and whatnot, all to add more enjoyment to a game that already possesses a whole lot of it. And to also offer variety to the game, since I've done pretty much everything there is to do. It also spurred me on to go ahead and create the 'Can you do it..?' franchise. Which has since offered me more diverse gaming pleasure.

Oh, there is a mission that I don't particularly hate, but one that I find can get tedious. And that's Distribution. After a short while it becomes a bit repetitive, but not to the point where I want to turn the game off and forget about it.

Worst one that no-one has said yet: Phnom Penh '86 on PlayStation 2. Lack of mouse control on the console versions sets this mission worlds apart from the noob-friendly PC version.

The same could be said about the similar gun missions on the two Stories games (e.g. 9mm Mayhem, LCS), but that doesn't belong in this topic.

I agree with flicko here, Demolition Man and that Top Fun mission (Escobar Intl.) are both easy once you get used to the way they 'steer'. They would probably be a P.I.T.A. though if you were stuck with a keyboard as your only controlling device though; I use analog sticks for 'driving' on both PS2 and PC (however, I switch to keyboard/mouse when shooting on the latter, with the controller in my lap ready for when I decide to bail afterwards).

I don't know if manual aiming is any different in Vice City on the console version(s) compared to the later games with free aim, but if it's the same then I guess it's quite easy. It may be because I'm just great with free aiming while someone drives a moving vehicle (Phnom Penh 86, 9mm Mayhem, Jive Drive etc).

However some missions can be hard on such parts because your driver always turns too many times making aiming absolutely hard.

the mission I hate the most is Dildo Dodo.....

Flying that bloody plane is more frustrating than speaking Chinese....

once that dildo is airborne.....frustration also starts increasing.

I always sucked at Demolition Man and hated it cause Avery's other missions were so cool tounge2.gif Can't beat dressing up in that golf gear and beating that guy up with a golf club.

(Just realised Gary Busey played Phil Cassidy. Awesome! But talk about slow... lol)

It's one of the film studio missions. You can also grab a nice gold limo if you're lucky.

Just wondering, is everyone with problems in Dildo Dodo using a keyboard? Can't fly for crap with it here, switched to the Dual Action controller and completed it straight after. wink.gif

Yes, I fly the Dodo with a keyboard. It takes a bit of practice, but it's quite possible.

I've never actually had a chance to compare the different way they perform (I've only ever had VC for PS2, and only ever been on VC for the PC a handful of times), that might be why I find the mission Phnom Penh '86 remarkably easy, and fun too! It's actually one of my favourite missions. Using heavy artillery to obliterate a total of thirty-seven(!) gang members, whilst hovering in a Chopper with your very own chauffeur, then landing to retrieve a briefcase, only to be chauffeured back to Diaz's mansion is something I certainly thrive upon. I take it the majority find it easier on the PS2 than the PC?

Yeah, in the mission, you have to enter a Sparrow, and then follow Candy Suxxx (without tailgating, mind), as she is being taken to Congressman Alex Shrubs' quarters. You then have to ascend up a storied building adjacent to where Suxxx and Shrub are located, and take some snapshots of them. Then you face the difficult task of getting back to the inter-global porn empire, complete with a five-star wanted level. As you can see by my enthusiasm, I love this mission as well!!!

I saw this topic and immediately thought of Phnom Penh '86 before even looking at the above controls. I'm judging this on initial difficulty, because I was around 12/13 trying to complete this level and I hadn't played anything like it before in a Grand Theft Auto environment. Now, I could probably inch my past it but it was a real kick in the teeth way back when.

Demolition Man is another I will always have memories of, and not necessarily good ones. The first copy of VC I got was riddled with faults, to the point that my helicopter would spawn upside down, much to my dismay. After a lot of huffing and puffing I took it back and sailed through the thing because I'd had so much practice trying to right this damn helicopter!

I've never heard of such a far-fetched malfunction. Did the Goblin's blades simply graze along the concrete surface and start smoking? Or could you actually manouver it and fly upside down..?! Were there any other crazy malfunctions your game encountered?

This isn't really classed as a mission, since you don't actually do anything, but in terms of how tedious completing a task can be, spending $300 on the dancer/s in the back-room of Pole Position Strip club most definitely ranks up at the top. It would help if the dancers actually danced, and didn't continuously flop about in the same position, with their arms actually going through their cleavage (It's true! Check it out!). I'm not so much complaining here, because I know of Rockstars' boundaries, and I don't get a turn-on from a pixelated game, but hey-ho. I usually end up doing something else to pass the time, while I wait for my five minutes to draw to a close.

I actually found shakedown quite annoying as it was difficult to smash all the windows unless you have a krueger. I always would go upstairs, shoot all the windows, then go downstairs and do the same, think I finished but realise there is one more upstairs. dozingoff.gif

Ok, new most hated mission: Supply and Demand.

Why? Its so f*cking aggrivating. The first part sucks because the walls in the complicated river just pop out of no where and cause the boat to turn around, failing the mission. The second part sucks because you can't even aim with the god-awful sunlight in your face. The boat explodes even when the health is half-full. It's f*cked up. I hate that mission. I love the cut scenes, however.

It's very easy actually. Takes a bit of practice like Steve already said and you will fly like a pro soon.

Im using keyboard and don't have any problems flying with it.
Pure fun.
