Rocket UZI

The Rocket UZI is a simple weapon mod I made through editing "WeaponInfo.xml" file. It allows you to fire rockets from within a car. Normal bullets are simply exchanged for rockets, so it fires pretty quickly and looks exactly the same as a normal UZI. Most improtantly it is also held like a normal UZI and not up in the air like a heavy weapon, which means that nobody will know what UZI you have until you fire.

I decided to make this mod because I wanted a rocket weapon which would fire at a higher rate than a Rocket Pistol and which could be used while driving a car. I chose the Micro UZI because it is not very often seen in the game since it is superceded by the MP5. Becuase the MP5 is used more often, you always have a choice and you don't have to use rockets every time you're in a car. The obvious problem with this mod is that you can't turn it off.

Consider installing Simple Trainer by sjaak327 to accompany my Rocket UZI as it allows you to easily switch to an "infinite ammo/no reload" mode in any weapon. In addition, you'll get an astonishing number of other functions. Features
  1. Fires rockets from a car.
  2. High rate of fire.
  3. Looks exactly like a regular UZI and is also held that way (the only difference is the way it fires).
  4. You'd better turn both Niko's God Mode and Car God Mode on when you use it.
Rocket UZI in 4 Steps
  1. Back-up your WeaponInfo.xml file from "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\common\data" by default. You can always undo the changes now.
  2. Open WeaponInfo.xml in NotePad and exchange the original Micro UZI command lines with those below. If you won't be able to save, use "Save As" and let it save in any location. It will be saved in the original format despite what it says.
  3. Put the new file in the "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\common\data" directory by default.
  4. Run the game and have fun.

Indeed, those are the most ugly and annoying mods out there.

I thought you needed to run some program to prevent GTAiv knowing you'd modified its files else it wouldn't run no more. You don't mention that. Is it not necessary in this case?

You're right. In order to access multiplayer with this mod, you would have to counter R*'s anti-cheating protection. However, I cannot tell you how to do this because it is against the forum rules to talk about multiplayer modding. I hope it's enough for you (which it probably isn't) that you can freely use this mod in Single Player and don't have to worry about any restrictions.

Cool! I've seen this famous mod tons of times in Multiplayer! Even WITH the latest patch those smart A$$ modders STILL hack gta IV! this is fun until you have to do missions with it. The people blow you up and kill themselves too in the process. Either way i've worked around this by enabling god mode and vehicle god mode. Its still kind of funny when they blow themselves up.

i think these mods are for when you beat the games and are getting bored with it.

You could edit that code to make it hit every time through changing the accuracy, no?

This mod would have actually been good if it was simply an in-car rocket launcher... doing what was done here but with a pistol instead, with a longer delay between shots, and then simply change the pistol model to the model of the rocket.

That would be realistic and fun to shoot out of a car. This is just.... lame. Like Saints Row type sh*t.
