But there are several reasons that we kept the UI part as simple as possible, some of the most iportant being:
1) We want DYOM easy to install/remove. We achieve this by having it as a pure SCM script mod, using the MPACK system. If we added fancy textures and such, this would not work anymore.
2) Codesize for SCM mod is limited by the engine, and we're already very close to exhausting it.
3) The current menu's are native to the game engine, mouse based menu would have to be implemented fully in SCM, occupying scarse SCM code-space
4) The amount of work we can put in DYOM is limited. If we work on DYOM, we rather like to focus on features that add new gameplay elements than on eyecandy for the designer.

Hey, guys. I just thought about some new things that one day DYOM V8 should have and here they are. It's not much but:

1. Actor options for the route: Next to: Use existing and Design new route, there should be a ''Continue existing route'' option where it would give the player jetpack and teleport it to the place where the route ended so he could just continue it. I tend to miss the route when designing and go into a wrong street and such. It's not big of a deal with a few yards passed, but when I miss the route on the end where I've been through a lot of the map (it takes me quite some time to get the route done) and when I miss, I have to go all over again. It's the same if I click the wrong button on the keyboard. It kinda gets on my nerves from time to time. It would be great to have that feature.

2. Spawning customizable cars: That speaks for itself. But, you know, the menu would look something like: Car - Add car - Then the car spawns in front of you, you choose the color, the position and everything as it is now, but in the end where you get a box in which you choose ''Damage proof'' etc, you add another option like ''Customizing'' at the end and where we'd click that, the car would spawn to the car shop where we'd customize it and when we finish, the car spawns in front of the player again. Personally, this feature missed me a lot in a couple of my previous mission packs.

3. A couple of new animations would be cool aswell.

Patrick and Dutchy, I'd be really thankful if you'd consider these options for the next DYOM version. smile.gif

I suggest multiple cutsceens choice.
For example, there are two checkpoints (I will say CP from now on) CP A and CP B. When you enter CP A cutsceen A will appear, and when you enter CP B cutsceen B will appear. It'll give designers the choice to make players to choose, making the story more interesting,

I suggest that...

1. actor can ride a car in retreat Mode to put the car in garage, parking place, etc.
2. more object! now, I really need a Container Ship for my mission. [ the ship located in giant bridge, San Fiero. ]
3. added more moving cutscene and Actor movement.

I think just that...

Add some options to make life easier for many breeders!
I refer to these three:
- Delete all actors.
- Delete all objectives.
- Delete all objects.

Please make this happen for GTA IV... There are so many IV mods such as IV:SA, III Rage Classic, VC Rage, whcih means we could make missions for GTA IV, Vice City , San Andreas and III LC in Rage engine!

- Secondary missions for storylines (example,  speak on the phone or create cutscenes OUTSIDE of the missions);
- Possibility to give why the mission has failed (those letters under the "Mission failed");
- "Object like objetive": You need to destroy an object to fulfill the purpose (example, those buttons that open gates in the missions of San Andreas);
- "Actor with arrow" (without be an objective): Arrow in an actor, can be red for enemies or blue for friends;
- Improvement in routes of cars, motorcycles, helicopters and planes, do not know if it would be possible but in creating these routes, spawn a test car / motorcycle / helicopter / airplane to do the route, not marking the route with "n";
- Creation of routes for trains and trams;
- Introduction text (those little boxes on the top left of the screen) can be placed at any time of the mission;
- Edit player abilities (respect, skill with weapons, sex appeal, ...) during the storyline, and missions require certain capabilities;
- Objectives like "crouch" or "aim in characters";
- Secondary Objectives: Creating dialogs while you have to go to a checkpoint or checkpoints invisible while you chase an actor who must kill, or friends who come to help during a shootout against enemies;
- Possibility to put "end credits" in the storyline, coming up with the fine equal to GTA San Andreas;
- Cutscene able to follow the player / actor, now do not stop following him, but going along with him;
- Create actors with parachute and jetpack;
- Actors leave the car in motion;
- Finish with some bugs, like crash when placing the object "fire" or when we "hide" actor in an actor who is "must survive" (when we do that, the mission fails);
- Animations for the player: Player can do animations in cutscenes or out of then, like jump, walk, go inside an car and follow some rout, and others.
- An actor, in a car, followed by another actor. Then there would be the need to put your character in that other car to give "Follow player behind";
- Create an actor and make him follow the same route in a vehicle from another actor, save the work of people who are doing racing missions, for example;
- Power put those type decisions GTA IV, "kill or let alive".

More some:

- Slow motion: This script you can get in the mission "Just Business", but I really wanted you stood in the new version because I'm planning some missions for future expansion of my LTA and I need the slow motion;

- Camera follows actor in motion inside the car (translation: film camera for cutscenes): You can get this script from the game itself, the camera when you change the film camera;
- Inclusion of new scripts, do not know if it would be possible but you could pick scripts from SAMP RPG servers to put in DYOM.

To use ''Slow motion'' sh*t just make a cutscene saying players should type ''SLOWITDOWN'' cheat then make your cutscenes in slow motion then make another cutscene saying players should use ''SPEEDITUP'' after the slow motion cutscene is over.

Long story short: Use ''SLOWITDOWN'' before your cutscenes then ''SPEEDITUP'' after it.

Add bosses features, like :

 

- When adding a health bar, after losing half health, actor starts running away, or doing something else.

 

- If possible, adding immunity to certain kinds of damage for actors ( like fire, bullets etc [Good for zombie missions])

Other Features

 

- Misson failure reason feature ( like, if you was with a friendly actor at your side, and he died , and his name was Mike, the designer were able to select some option like ''If mission Fails'' , then  a input text box appears  and it  you could write it , like :''

 

Mission Failed!

 

Mike died.

Mission Failed cutscene?

if you set a "must survive" car or actor, you can set up special stuff that only plays when you fail.

Well im a Dyom Mission Maker......I recently made my 11 the mission pack......During i made missions , i felt some things missing......

These are some features i would suggest that should be added to Dyom:

1.Character Cutomization: For some Roles , we do not get appropriate characters....in that case a special feature should be added that allows us to customize CJ eg:Clothes,Muscle , Stamina.......

If we want to create a secret agent we can add Cj and give him tuxedo .....instead people make the Casino workers as agents Lol...

 

2.When i start a mission from interior..then if i go outside.......i lose radar and it does't comes back in whole Mission.......a solution has been suggested to add a checkpoint that teleports player to outside but that doesn't makes this thing realistic.

 

3.A passenger feature should be added that allows our player to sit in car as passenger and allow other actor to drive ,,,,makeing it more realistic..apart from cleo

 

4.There Should also be a feature which allows multiple animations for Actors.

Eg:If an acttor runs......and then climbes a wall and jumps....Something like this...

I will kepp updating this information on this topic

But in the option teleport ot car there is no such option like select seat , that option is available in actor animation.

But in the option teleport ot car there is no such option like select seat , that option is available in actor animation.

Make It Just For Call of duty missions, anims, dog scripts, call air support, ac130 mod, helo insertion,ai tank shooting, can support some cleo mods that can be use with the dyom,fast rope, seats in black hawk heli, diving anims, hand signals, UAV, breach script, ai battleship shooting, aircraft carrier ai take off, movie maker  and much more!!

You do realise that you can add this yourself? Just download the CoD mods and you're good to go.

I see we need,

 

Slow and Fast motion cutscenes without using cheats,

Repair the fire object which crash the game,

Add more object,

Make the shooting better,

Make the ability of customization of the actors or even CJ only,

Modding of Cars,

Adding new cars and vechiles because some missions are in the nowadays,

Kill or let live,

Support from homies or police backup (SUPPORT!) in any time,

Multiple choices of the checkpoint to go to,

The timeout or cutscene work in an area not place,

Fast teleporter,

Making the objects, weapons, actors and even cars in groups like helis, cars, ships,

Objective: Actor must not reach a checkpoint (must be killed before he does).

Maybe an option for driving actors - reverse driving that is not a different anim. Maybe adding to press one more button when designing car route-points like already existing adding route-points and looping.

Can we have an option where an actor (non-objective) appears on the radar with a blip?
After we set the actor, there can be an option saying "Mark on radar" and then you select the color of the blip.
This could work with missions where you follow an actor.

Maybe it will be good if they make you can choose what you`r mission will be like, I mean will it be race mission, or just a simple mission what we can make in DYOM v7. Some new animations will be good, too. When you playing with CJ that you can buy clothes for him and change his body. When you playing storyline that you can tune your cars and also when you playing in storyline mode that you can save your progress and more objecrs, too

 

I don`t have anymore ideas, I`m empty now

I'm pretty sure that there will be no DYOM 8v and how the DYOM is making, but I have one idea that when you make spawn actor > Sit in nearest car > and than you to have option to choose attack actor > choose actor ( I mean which actor to attack, ex. Your friend with his car to attack enemie  actor);

And we to be able to put more than 100 actors, objectives... in the mission

Those are my ideas for the next update (V8)

 

Like, if you put a Must Survive on actor, there will pop another window saying If Mission Fails, then put in like, ''Clancy died''. Then if the actor dies, it will say ''MISSION FAILED! Clancy died.'' and put on a vehicle, ''The car was badly damaged''. That would be cool.

 

2. Put blimp on actor, example: Go to actors, then blimp on map, radar. Then put in the color. Like red,green,blue,yellow. That would also be pretty cool.

 

 

That's all, I hope those ideas will make an appearance to the future updates of DYOM.

What about a Girl Friend Option? I think This Option will birth too many New Cool Mission Packs.
