Is there a way to fix it?

This will fix mostly if not all securom errors generated by Securom. Just follow the think to the ohter post in the forum and read the instructions.

I don't recommend using this without a legal copy of Gta IV.

I managed to fix the 2000 error by uninstalling Visual C++ 2008 and installing Visual C++ 2005 Runtimes.

Now GTA4 just starts, it goes fullscreen with a black screen for 10 seconds, then crashes without any errors. Whats wrong now?

Make sure you don't have any mods or havn't modified any of the original GTA IV Files. Make sure the 2005 redistribute is the SP1 version (VCRedit 2005 SP1). Uhh this could also be that your graphics aren't up to par with the game. What are your specs?

I got it working. For some strange reason, XFire has been crashing my GTA games lately. I have to quit XFire in order to run any GTA game.

And my specs?

Not so good, 1 GB RAM, C2D 2.83GHz, ATI Mobility Raedon 2400 XT 128MB.
