Quick question about GTA IV modding

I've been doing a lot of retexturing but I haven't figured out a way to preview how things look on the mesh without having to start the entire game every time. Takes a very long time to do so and I was hoping that someone could recommend a better way to get a prevew of the mesh and textures I'm working with without starting up the game.

I tried asking on gtagaming but no luck on a response so far. This forum looks quite active so I figure it's a good spot to get some expert advice. smile.gif
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RAGE is the engine GTAIV is using.

To preview textures on models you need a model viewer/editor which supports the models.

I don't know if there's one which can show textures, yet.

The problem is, I don't know what to use to view the models because I've found no way to export them within Spark. The only thing I can get out of Spark is the wdr and wtd and I don't know how to extract that mesh file to even see what kind of 3d file it is.
Any suggestions on that would be awesome.

Not quite what I'm looking for but thanks for the link.
It doesn't seem like there's anything out yet that does what I was asking about. Hopefully soon with the speed at which modding is progressing!

try this then .........

it lets you view extracted wdr files with textures if they've been extracted as jpg's to the (wdr) model folder and has a max script for loading models exported from the viewer into max, however there is no uv mapping on the models when in max.
