So glad TU 12 is finally out on Xbox, now I can finally get to work on my fantasy forest idea, sort of inspired by Valenwood in TES with the large trees and such.

Ok there are some issues with the 360 update.

-The biome in my world where most of my stuff is located happens to be desert, and I had a bunch of snow golems guarding sh*t, and now they all auto die, which is f*cking bullsh*t.

-Minecarts go super f*cking slow now, before it was f*cking awesome you could get across the map super fast and up and down my skyscrapers in an instant, even if the world didn't load, who gives a f*ck you are where you want to be, now that has been pissed on.

-Doors are all now f*cked up and placed wrong.

-Dogs have disappeared.

-Have to start a new world yet again to get the jungle biome.


Also does anyone know if jungle and desert temples will now spawn or is it only the desert wells?

The snow men melting in a desert biome is a feature.

I think the door placement was also an issue on pc when loading old maps on the new build mainly just with double doors

If it's the update I think it is then currently there will only be desert wells.

The rest of the issues I'm not to sure about.

Yeah I get that, but what they don't realize is that when they keep changing things, it f*cks with our existing worlds we have spent hours and hours on.

Our original world with 500+ hours into or more, got f*cked over because they decided to change/fix one of the biomes so that it snowed.

So after coming back to our world the plains and beach were covered with snow, and awesome water features and rivers were frozen, totally f*cking up this whole dock and river boating system.

It is annoying how our game worlds get buggered up every time they change pretty pointless things.

Last time all our chests got f*cked up and were in different directions.

The biome change happened to my Alpha world too (which will be 3 years old in a few days, I think), which is still my main world. And pretty much the only one I play on. I used a biome changer tool and MCEdit to remove the snow and ice.

Apparently that mine cart speed issue is a bug. Maybe we'll get a bug fix before 2014 :]

Leaves with a glowing pumpkin underneath. Rarely a zombie or other mob would come down to my base from the mountain. That stops them.

You'd be f*cking lucky if you did, the PC version of the game's still littered with bugs, instead of screwing around with new biomes or whatever Mojang should put some effort into actually polishing their game's existing features rather than constantly adding new ones to an already overcomplicated formula.

Was on creative and just found a random squid floating in the air, even though there's no water apart from in the villages. confused.gif

Currently working on something big. Not going to give too much away, I've just been working on it for the past week or so, playing the odd hour here and there. It's not a massive build build but it's fiddly and has taken a lot of effort so far. I'll upload pics soon

Started building a cat house. It's same thing as this building but mine connects to ocean and quarry behind and is built from Snow, Coal and Wool Blocks.

The Cathouse under construction

EDIT: Finally completed. This is one of my most expensive buildings. 5 Stacks of Coal (for Blocks), 342 Bone Meal (to grow Trees) lots of Wooden Planks and some glass. It is also very dangerous because I ran out of Leaves and had to leave a hole in the roof. It is blocked off but mobs spawn in there. They can also somehow exit the inside-roof (not ceiling) because when building the tail, I got owned by a Zombie. Survived though, thank you water.

Building another cathedral on the Xbox version. I don't know why I get myself into these builds. I always end up f*cking it up half way through and it ends up being different on one side. whatsthat.gif

One thing I do when creating a big build is planning. I sight out a plot big enough for my build then I do measurements of it. Making sure it's consistent on each side. I also think of how many blocks I can place in a certain direction to fit the plot size nicely and then use the same amount on the opposite side. Planning things out have really reduced the mistakes in my builds. Give it a try.


This Thursday a snapshot for 1.7 will possibly be released according to dinnerbone, he didn't confirm it's this Thursday, but it's looking very likely to come out this Thurday. One thing he did note, and was a bit disappointing to read was that the first snapshot won't have terrain changes, because more testing needs to be done. The source of this info is on dinnerbones Twitter.

The new snapshot is awesome! I like the new biomes and blocks.

 

Mesa (Disco Mountains) is very glitchy though. Hardened Clay spawns as Air.

What the hell, I've created a new world, and I've spawned in the middle of the sea (actually at some meters below the level of the sea) without any land visible :cry:

I've done that a couple of times myself. Also made new Worlds where there hasn't been any water and I'd already started building. That was a pisstake.

Downloaded new snapshot (That I just saw). I tried the Mesa seed again and all I have to say is... THIS IS HARDENED CLAY HEAVEN :inlove:

 

Need some advice. Should I continue playing on my current world on new snapshots and ignore chunk walls or start a new world? I put some work into the old world but the chunk walls kinda look bad when I tested it. Some are random ocean or high falls to flat area (which both can kill).

You can always use MCEdit to copy-paste building from your old world to the new.

You can always use MCEdit to copy-paste building from your old world to the new.

I know of that but I got used to the world terrain. (And I've got multiple houses away from the main one. They are just simple wood/cobble houses though)
