uh i found a bug!

when you leave the menu while spin camera rolls around the car the hud dosnt appear sigh.gif
should ShowHud(1) in anyway when exiting the selector i think.

Ill check it out, I only once had no radar when leaving the menu. Its strange the display hud command should always run. nice find.

I have to say I saw that coming. There are ways i could clear cars around the parking zone but then maybe the person wants to keep both cars. It is a strange symbiotic saving system this way.

I haven't had a proper chance to play with the latest version of this awesome mod, but can I just clarify how the saving works?

You can create presets which can be called back at any time and you can buy the car again right?

Ok, but I'm also getting the impression from Hippie that once you buy a car, when you save your game the car is saved in the last place you had it in? Is that right? I can't get my head around how this could have been coded so it's not quite making sense yet.. smile.gif

Sounds damn good however it works.

Yeah, this is how it works. You left your car somewhere (I'm not 100% sure, but if you will leave at place where cars spawn (parking etc, no not your safehouse parking) it will gone) You save game, go to the place you left it, and there she/he is.

I guess he is storing the info in a file on disk. Great idea to have a persistent car like this. smile.gif

Yep the cars are saved to a separate binary file. But saving and loading of this file is done automatically when the user saves at a bed or loads a game.

Beautiful piece of work!

I was assuming you were storing the data in file but wasn't sure how you could hook that into the save / load mechanism.
Very clever technique and one which opens up some exciting possibilities.

Awesome, awesome mod.. If you can sort out the radar blips for the saved cars that would be fantastic.

Nothing is impossible. wink.gif You could make a script that will keep the car in place, after it was locked by a keypress. Just a quick idea. smile.gif

Yeah its just the way the games physics are designed dude, cars clearly dont have handbrakes (parkingbrakes) in gta confused.gif . It could be scripted in a few different ways, but it gives me an idea for a handbrake mod smile.gif

I dunno i think just adding static markers to the cars would get really REALLY annoying, say you have 15 cars stored, thats 15 blips on your radar permanently. It would be much better if the blips either; A. Just appeared on the menu map, as opposed to the radar, or alternatively B. Were bound to a hotkey that turned the blips on or off.

Damn. Good idea. It's those little mods that make game nice, like coronas mod, seatbelt mod and now handbrake mod. Seriously, someone do it. That'd be awesome to toggle handbrake on each car.

The thing is though they do have hand breaks. When you stop the car and hold down the exit button you hear Nico apply the handbreak. Then when another car hits it, it only moves a little bit compared to how it would move if the hand break was off.
I'm sure this is right isn't it? I'd check but haven't got the game on yet.. smile.gif

I suspect the game works diferently when a vehicle is not on the road.

This mod is awesome!

finally purchasing cars is possible

but can you make more version of that, that you have to go to grotti shop/use the internet site to buy?it would be good for realism lovers

This is superb just installed it to try out after all this time icon14.gif

Yeh it would be a great immersion enhancer if in some way it could be added in some way to have it in cafe PC's and then spawn it outide inlove.gif

Probably no need realy but anyway.

I did think about it Danny and Monkey. Problem is now it is the way it is you will just get people complaining who are used to the old system.
If i do make it optional id like to have different classes of showroom offering different vehicles.

I find that If you tap the exit car button you leave the radio and engine on and don't use a handbrake.
But If you hold the exit car button he applies hand break turns off radio and car engine.

Maybe the best way would be to split it into two versions. The realism version which you have to visit a shop and buy, and the tool version as it is now but without the cost, for people who just want to use it to try out different vehicles with different extras. One would be a content mod and the other would be more of a utility.

Nice find on the holding down of the exit button, thats a nice little touch.
