Hi Everyone.

Have tried everything to get my Logitech G25 Wheel to work following the new patch (1.02) ...

1. Command Line "-usedirectinput" in the target of the shortcut for "LaunchGTAIV.exe" (With and without quotes)
2. Direct startup from command shell ... "E:\Games\GTA IV\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -usedirectinput
3. Tried above with and without the Logitech profiler running.
4. Tried adding the file "commandline" in the target directory with the line "-usedirectinput" in (again, with and without quotes).

Nothing seems to work. I have verified that the wheel works fine in all other games.

Is there an added step to do in game that I am missing?

Possibly a Vista 64 thing?

Please help.

Thanks

Same problem here, using same wheel, same software, same OS

Only luck I got was mapping the D key to the right and the A key to the left

but it's really funny hahaha, I need to turn the wheel all the way to the right if I want a single car movement to the right (same as pressing the D key once)

Same for the left

Hello

Ok

You have to map to the red left button, keyboard A

Here is the mapping

Left red button -> A
Right red button -> D

Steering left -> AA
Steering right -> DD

In order to steer sort of good, you have to create a new command, called A pressed

Select the Steer Wheel, click on New Assignment

There is a button that says EDIT, right to Keystrokes and commands

Press New command

Here is the trick

Click on options, select Record Pauses

It should be something like this

A Press
Pause 0.2
A release

On the repeat rate, select around 50%

Now on the Logitech Profiler, click on the steering wheel again, and select

Axis Properties

Select

Sensitivity 0%
Dead Zone 0%
Range 100%

Now, when you are playing the game, steer to your right

If it goes too much to the right, press the left red button (which is a keystroke of A, which means left)

So you need to steer the wheel and make small corrections with the red buttons

I've mapped my entire GTA IV and it's awesome

If I press the Red BIG button on the shifting gear, I can honk, turn on the lights

BIG RED 1 -> G (honk)
BIG RED 2 -> H (lights)
BIG RED 3 -> ESC (to see the map when driving)
BIG RED 4 -> Enter

The POV I mapped it to UP-DOWN-RIGHT-LEFT keystrokes

The 4 buttons on top of the POV I've mapped them to

up -> V (camera)
down ->C (reset camera)
right -> right mouse click
left -> left mouse click

Now, select the keyboard, place in on the left of your wheel

And in the middle of the wheel and the shift stick, put the mouse

One last thing, assign the keystroke

Accelerate -> W
Brake -> S

so now, you can accelerate, brake,

use your wheel

use the red buttons in the wheel to make small corrections

change cameras
use the cell phone...

everything, all from your keyboard, wheel, mouse and shifting gear

I feel like a truck drive

Oh one last thing

Shift Gear Left -> keystroke I (Previous Radio station)
Shift Gear Right -> keystroke O (Previous Radio station)

The ONLY major change you need to do in GTA IV is assign I and O for next/previous radio stations, and that's about it
