I'll have to look for some clips of it live.

Oh yeah, 10/10. I could also imagine that in a Street Fighter game. It has the "vibe", if that's what you'd call it.

Pixies || Hey

For some reason I love the opening guitar in this song.

10/10, easily one of my favorite Pixies songs.

The Black Keys - When the Lights Go Out (set to Black Snake Moan, a movie I've never seen but movies love using The Black Keys in their sountracks)

Which is something I've enjoyed a lot recently.

Very bluesy/country-ish, I thought it was pretty rad. 8/10

haha, it grows on you. love the beat and the lyrics.

Sorry, I had to quote this.

I prefer the original by José Gonzales, have you heard it? smile.gif

At the song above me, very soothing, 8/10.

Well, what can I say? Time by Pink Floyd - a classic. I love the lyrics. They're quite depressing but realistic and interesting. The music is just beautiful. I also love the Easy All Stars cover of this track.

9.5/10

Really cool. I quite enjoyed that. 9/10

One of my all-time favorite albums. The song doesn't really kick in for a while, but it's well worth it.

ZZtop is always good. I got to see them live once. Never seen so many bikers in one place. Seems like alot of their songs have the same beat going on though. 8/10 (your link is f*cked though bud)

Bad Religon - Struck A Nerve

There's an old man on a city bus
holding a candy cane,
And it isn't even christmas,
he sees a note in the obituary that
his last friend has died,
there's an infant clinging to
his overweight mother in the cold
as they go to shop for cigarettes,
and she spends her last dollar
on a bottle of vodka for tonight

and I guess it struck a nerve,
like I had to squint my eyes,
you can never get out of the line of sight,
like a barren winter day,
or a patch of unburned green,
like a tragic real dream,
i guess it struck a nerve

every day I wander in negative disposition,
as I'm bombarded by superlatives,
realizing very well that I am not alone,
introverted i look to tomorrow for salvation,
but I'm thinking altruistically,
and a wave of overwhelming doubt
turns me to stone

and I guess it struck a nerve,
sent a murmur through my heart,
we just haven't got time to crack the maze,
like a magic speeding clock,
or a cancer in our cells,
a collision in the dark,
I guess it struck a nerve

I try to close my eyes,
but I cannot ignore the stimuli,
if there's a purpose for us all
it remains a secret to me,
don't ask me to justify my life

Cause I guess it struck a nerve,
like I had to squint my eyes,
you can never get out of the line of sight,
like a magic speeding clock,
or a cancer in our cells,
a collision in the dark,
I guess it struck a nerve

8/10. I remember that song from when it was a hit a few years ago. I'm glad that Damon Albarn is reuniting with Blur.

Billy Joel || Tomorrow Is Today

This song, taken from his debut album in 1971, was originally a suicide note. It has to be one of my favorites by him and one of his most underrated songs.

5/10. Generic, and the "rapper"(?)'s voice was annoying and sounded much like a cartoon character. Not sure if that was the intention.

6/10 sounds like alot of other vague rock bands out there at the moment, not really feeling the vocals either.

Seriously? If people are going to keep posting like this, I'm going to close it. The point of this topic is to generate some discussion about the song at hand, not for the sake of just posting a song. Why do you think the "now playing thread" got closed?

Anyway, this band seems to be stuck in the mid 90s school of modern rock ballads. Catchy hook, short verse, rinse, repeat. Snoozefest '97. I'm going on the assumption that this is a fairly recent band, so that's pretty unfortunate that I've heard this song about 5 times before the new millennium. 3/10 for being at least somewhat catchy.

anyway, here's an oldish one for you f*cking hippies.

f*ck, Al is my favorite bassist right now.

When any of my bands actually have some sort of song, I want to make a cheap video just like this one.
