. I admit that I haven't knowingly listened to Jimi Hendrix before, as he came before my time. So these songs must still grow on me. The distorted guitar in this song tells me of wide open American country, because I associate it with railroad simulation games and a little with Willie Nelson.Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise

Lyrics (spoilers): http://rapgenius.com...paradise-lyricsI can't live a normal life,
I was raised by the street.
So I got to be down with the hood team.
Too much television watching got me chasing dreams.
I'm an educated fool with money on my mind,
got my tin in my hand a gleam in my eye.
I'm a loc'd down gangsta, set tripping bang,
and my homies is down so don't arouse my anger, fool.
Death ain't nothing but a heartbeat away.
I'm living life do or die, what can I say?
I'm twenty three. Now,
will I live to see twenty four?
The way things is going
I don't know.
They say I got to learn,
but nobody's here to teach me.
If they can't understand it,
how they can reach me?
I guess they can't. I guess they won't.
That's why my life is out of luck, fool.
why are we so blind to see
that the ones we hurt
are you and me?
This was a big hit here in europe, and I loved it and it played some part in how i was 'raised'. But ever since I played San Andreas, and could "hear" the words, I began to associate the story in the lyrics with gangsta life portrayed in the game. I'm happy though the song didn't make into the game, being released too late. I feel it would cheapen somewhat.
That's what I think. But your opinion's are welcome.
