Do as others before have done in the topic, I can pick the best rock tunes, and Def Lep ruled the 80s era, and they're still around. That speaks volumes about their merit
As for funk, electronica, etc, it's all viable here.
Just an FYI, I don't plan to add to this any further (rate, comment on rating, post new song, the format for this thread) ^

Nice one, I've heard heard money grabber by F&TT but I have never heard this song before. I thoroughly enjoyed it. They all sound pretty 80's to me first time I heard his songs, which is probably why I like em. 10/10 for me.

More Def L.

Back on track? At least for now! Love Lep, but of the new songs, I last posted two of my favorites, they stand the test of time
Love Bites Joe Elliot referred to as an electric ballad, you could say
I have to try for some thing new for the next selection
I do revert to my all time favs a lot

9/10

How bout some Ratt N Roll? I'm in the mood for Pearcy

9/10 I have never heard that song before, I like it.

Here is another favorite of mine, but has probably been posted in here before.

Their AOR hit, not the best from that period, I get burned out on it rather easily, I'd still rate it 7.5/10, I love FLOYD, as such, here's a bit of a tricky audio share;
Lucifer Sam is PF's Syd era classic, but this video should be seen with the proper audio, rather then a bland YT find, Ima post it here anyway, for it's visual value. Know the song?

7/10. While it's not really my favourite era of Pink Floyd, I quite like this one. There's something about it that kind of stands out for me. I just dig their later stuff a bit more.

This is a song I heard the other day and has just dug itself a nice little notch in my brain and refuses to leave. Such a great track though so it's all cool. That little guitar riff and her voice really make it stand out.

I quite like it, problem for me with old school heavy metal/glam rock is I often find it sounds the same and gets a bit boring.

7/10

Whitesnake is really not Glam, kinda sorta Hair Metal, if you like that term, I don't
It's Hard Rock, in plain terms

10/10
from me

For the Punk selection, the song title sounds like a cover, but I don't hear similar to what I'm thinking (Metal Church IIRC)
It's Loud, Fast, and Thrashin' (quote from Trick or Treat)
Def Punk I'd say, but there's a segment called Blast Beat in HM music, in a way, it's Hyper tempo like that
7.5/10
If you like, check out the Japanese band S.O.B., very much in that tradition, more conventional thrash

UFO up next, a rare LIVE song, listen up to the unique ending on this one!

Hey a little trivia for ya... My sister used to go out with David Coverdale. 'Bout 1980-ish before they moved to America. Can't say I was ever into them - or hair metal.

You'l have to tell me, what's so unique about a guitar and drum outro? 5/10 mate. Not one of the greatest from the crotch rock genre lol.gif

Joseph, Have to disagree with you, how is UFO 'crotch rock'? By all accounts, they should have been as big as Led Zeppelin for their contribution to British Rock. The outro is unique for that live version, not the same as the studio version, which I couldn't locate
10/10 for Metallica

I'm still jamming on Floyd, the Immersion stuff, so I don't have a new track, but that Metallica song is one of their finest in their whole career

P. FRAMPTON;

Read a guitar magazine chronicling his original Les Paul Black Beauty being recovered and now restored presently by Gibson's custom shop. The article details how it was recovered after his gear on flight crashed in 1980s and went missing, presumed lost, a local musician had been using it for about 20 years, and he didn't want to part with it until some money had changed hands.

A customs officer who also repaired guitars noted it was Framptons, and Peter has since got the guitar back. Originally, with Humble Pie in 1970, he was offered the guitar for free!!

Windowpane.... 8/10
2 things help that track, first is the VOIVOD riff they blatantly used ... RIP PIGGY
Second is that it's a pro DVD recording, but that's not saying it ain't worth the score, but to show the earlier influence, Ima toss in the full VoiVod Nothingface, 1989

Vote the Hypercube track, really showed to me that VoiVod was more then your standard fare Thrash band, but true Legend from the frozen Northland

Good one, I've heard the band before, and that song seems a better pick then their prior single/s

I like a bit of fast pace HC, good for LCHC! haha 8/10

This is a RARE Keith Richard lead vox on the song that has a bit of controversy for the line 'I wanna f**k your sweet a**'

Here's a good song from GTA Vice City. Good combination of Rock/Rap, which is very unique and rare.

Been watching VH1's series on Hip Hop because they cater to that genre while you have to pay for VH1 Classic, supporting my style of music! I'm a bit ticked, but it's good to know RUN DMC were not opposed to the rock genre and really created the first cross over that paved many a way

I'd say 6/10, not their best, that's how I feel

Rainy Day Woman, actually, Black Crowes did their own great version, but I can't take it too seriously, even from Dylan
6.5/10
I'd say Tangled up in Blue is one of my favs from Bobby Z

The technical proficiency of the lead guitar cannot be overstated 11/10

I don't normally post metal, but I just got Trials Evo and this track fits the high octane jumps, loops and stunts perfectly. It's called "Shadows" and it's by Mike Reagan.
